16/11/2004 09:40 | old crow Still in complete holding. If Bauger walk away MW will want in anyway. | kingdwg
16/11/2004 09:35 | Well we still going to hold 50% of our original BFP but dont believe this will fetch 110, maybe 95. Further thoughts, following week end press reports strong hunch Walker could end up running this show, what say you Bigface kingdwg. Current management not much cop, locally we have some good stores and some so poorly placed that anyone worth their salt would close down. Keep Crowing | old crow
16/11/2004 09:35 | rogerman if you paid 200p you have been well rogered ! | bigboyo
15/11/2004 21:46 | rogerman - As I understand it the bid is being paid partly in cash and partly in oven ready, or microwave meals, so it may not be as bad as you think? The real problem for you Roger is whether it is best to take what is on offer now i.e. 93p or gamble that the bid will go ahead for more than that. The real assets of this comapny (after the pension hole and goodwill is deducted from net assets is negative) Ask yourself what BFG is worth if Bauger Walkers away, then assess your risk. | bigface
15/11/2004 16:46 | If, as is likely, it's a cash bid, you'll get the offer price, and a loss on your original purchase. At least the loss can be offset against gains elsewhere, if you have any, for CGT purposes. | madgooner
15/11/2004 16:45 | You cant be serious. Maybe Bigface can help. Keep Crowing | old crow
15/11/2004 16:42 | hi, can anyone help me. i was wondering if big food gets taken over at 110p. what happens to our shares for example im in at 200p. will we lose that investment or do we get something else in return. thank you | rogerman
14/11/2004 18:16 | Someone who wants to pay 400m for negative equity of 77m (Including the pension fund deficit & Goodwill) - An alternative bidder is always possible (for the turnover) but it increasingly looks like a huge dissappointment for those expecting 110p plus (including me!!) Another problem is that is the price is being talked down to 95p at the same time as an further anticipated delay of 2weeks Bauger (renound for doing very shrewd deals) the offer could be even less. Looking for another winner myself. | bigface
14/11/2004 18:08 | Lets hope someone else is out there. | robbie_3
14/11/2004 15:35 | Looks like 95p then. | bigface
14/11/2004 11:52 | Walker set for Iceland return. Bid may be cut to 95-100. | kingdwg
12/11/2004 13:14 | I am at work guys couln't trade whats the story on sof | bigface
12/11/2004 11:26 | kingdwg, Bigface faxxer gave us the answer on SOF BB Have a look, not to bad we think just wish they had bit more in gilts/bonds, index linked type. Keep Crowing | old crow
12/11/2004 09:56 | old crow Haven't really looked at it, didn't know it was an issue with sof, perhaps faxxer or Bigface know. Seems a popular reason these days if someone wants to knock the share price. | kingdwg
12/11/2004 09:17 | Bigface, King, in case you missed me any ideas on the pension fund for SOF. Keep Crowing | old crow
12/11/2004 00:08 | Bauger announced today that they have bought MK-One, the budget high st clothes retailer. Does anyone think this will effect Baugers bid for BFP? ie are they likely to leave it. | sikhthetech
11/11/2004 21:57 | Folks - due diligence having gone so far is likely to be looking at any currently committed capital expenditure. With BFG's financial situation any future capital commitments have to be funded by borrowing. Looking at the financials, this is in line with city expectations, and therefore highly likely in line with Baugur's. I would expect therefore that unless that committed capital expenditure exceeds Baugur's estimate that the 110p interest would be close to the ultimate offering. For every £3m additional likely debt expect a penny reduction in the expected offer to offset against the added debt. Personally I'd go for an offer upwards of 100p.....I would estimate that it is highly unlikely there any chance of them unearthing more than £30m of unexpected expenditure. | welshbloke
11/11/2004 21:50 | Bill Grimsey did a very good job in selling Wicks I hope with his negotiating skills he will do the same this time round. Baugur purchased their 22% stake at approx the 40p level from memory so at 110p less breakup proceeds of Iceland and other parts they will do well.Market cap at 110p = 380m total sales say 4.6b = 12 x .Anyhow if the bid is too low a private equity house may join the party or others.Seemingly they have overcome the pension deficit problem in principle. | a0148009
11/11/2004 18:08 | king, top marks on your SOF rec this morning. Keep Crowing | old crow
11/11/2004 16:52 | Guppyworld1 - they certainly look interesting, volume was pretty sensational today. | kingdwg
11/11/2004 16:43 | Bigface I hope you put some of the proceeds into sof, this morning rather than afternoon. | kingdwg
11/11/2004 15:47 | Hope it goes well fatman - I just started to feel |I was being conned and sold out. Thanks Kingdwg. Dissapointing really though - Good volumn - Fatman I thing leaving the Divi out of the accounts is imprudent - distors the real shareholders funds for current investors. I guess they didn't want to show futhr depleted assets, but they are flouting account convention by doing so. | bigface |
