Morning all,

thanks for the post re advertising - as noted it may reflect more on the interests of the player than a general audience, and may thus vary widely across the user base. Watching other players ( if the ads reflect them not the viewer - genx suggests these may also change) means it will need a communal way of assessing the impact. also note than MG as a chinese company that seemed to have taken the wrong tack many years ago by buying MG and accelerating the damage Rover did to the brand as opposed to how Geely positively with Volvo and we hope Lotus. Who will own JLR? I digress...

Hoping we are all pleasantly surprised by results when they arrive, I think many (non)investors are only just becoming aware of the scale of the engagement /business around gaming - as if football went from playing in the park awareness to the realisations that players earn 100's of thousands a week... the signs were there when Trevor Francis was sold for a million in 1979...hope we don't have to wait that long...

Some interesting tweets that include Adidas

And two with advertising within FM

Maybe Bidstack have a direct deal with Adidas, appears so.

“if they ever popped up” LOL.

IMO there’s a transition required. A mental shift of general advertising to grab most towards understanding the gains through in game advertising. The bigger players are starting to understand the gains, but they are literally the tip of the iceberg. The smaller and more numerous advertisers need to cotton on and start taking advantage.

Thus is why this is an exponential growth area. Not just in terms of games and DSPs signing up. But as the advertisers as a whole start to globally cotton on what a great advertising area this is.

BIDS stated before 1,000,000 impressions per day in Asia alone for FM. At £10 per cpm, that’s £300k per month or £1.8m per half year. So long as those levels are maintained. With increased and better DSPs signed up this can only increase. So I have no doubt once the SDK is finish and Bidstack is appearing in more games this revenue will rocket during 2020.

So what does this week bring?

Interim results must be out one day soon - latest date is the 27th September I gather.

The conference circuit is quieter - I am heading with a colleague to the Pro Sports Leadership one dayer on Tuesday - A lot of football clubs attending and some good meetings talking around eSports and what they can mean to soccer clubs?

Heading to Malta also but not until the 2nd October - Playcon is an eSports and games event over four days and gather Anzu may be attending - I would expect a Bids to have someone attend but we shall see.

Without the results I see the shares treading water again this coming week..... I hope I am wrong.

Thanks the Saint. Some good insight. The great thing about this investment is that traction is very visible. Also, I may be targeted with something completely different to you guys. Admittedly I won’t be sharing any erectile disfunction ads if they ever popped up. Hopefully pubguard will filter them.

Winning advertisers over will be the easiest part but you need to get in the room with them first. Adverts fill space online 24/7. It’s only a matter of time before the games are flooded imo.

As I’ve noted before, Fiat Tipo is being advertised to the Frenchies on FM19. I’m hoping to be served some range rover ads in a year or two when I cash out from the takeover ;)

Also, my vids have received 40 views each so there are a lot of people sitting listening in the background. Hope you are all enjoying the ride! Onto next week!

Missed off, wonder what users in other countries are seeing, we only get to see what’s on show here in U.K. all these games are worldwide.

Evidence of the DSP’s in action I think you’ll witness first in FM19, Dirt Rally and later Grid when launched. There’s been plenty of new adverts noted in FM so things are moving and I expect it to move much faster over the next few weeks as the space is sold to clients.

Cheers both, gives me more confidence.

SM19 went live with Bidstack back in February here-

MG Motors first noticed live march 19, with what I assume is a direct advertising deal as they had not connected to any DSP’s back then, more money in Bidstack’s pocket one would assume-

I have been using SM19 since Bidstack announced the deal, MG Motors appeared many times back then but I’ve had nothing from them recently, I’d assumed the advertising budget had expired/spent, what you are confirming is they are still live with a certain specified requirement, such as new members and only want spend say £1 per member within a certain demographic.

I’ve had other advertisers since then such as these that I noted on twitter-

two tweets with advertisers

There’s been others but I failed note them and I’m not that active on that games these days, two I recall are The Drum and BBC but I personally think these two are promotions that perhaps aren’t income generative.

As far as I am aware FM19 has much more active advertisers, SM19 has 2 million plus users? If MG have targeted say 300k of those at 50p a user cost, the income figures for first 6 months should be better then I had anticipated.

Also installs confidence that the software is working exactly as it’s meant, targeting specific users etc etc.

2 months for me. On Soccer Manager I’ve only seen 1x BT Sport advert and now the MG3 adverts x2. I’ve played around 50 games in that time and all 3 adverts were in the last 30 days.

FM19 seems to get more, understandably so as it’s an AAA game but I’ll only get to play that in November with my founders edition google stadia. Getting the house work done in preparation ;)

Money,

It was SM19 as well. Been there for every game I've played over the last couple of days. Without the ads changing I'm not sure how long they are up until they count as another impression. Maybe for each new piece of action, so possibly 10 times per match on average?

As its a free game is a no brainer for helping the cause :-)

Ad certainly worked for you anyway. Would you have gone searching for MG3 if you hadn't see it LOL.

I’ve just been served the MG3 ads Scottman was talking about in Soccer Manager - see here:

The quality is somewhat affected through screen capture then uploading but they are extremely clear in-game. They lasted the entire game though so not sure if they are paying for the entire game (5-7 mins) or every 8 seconds. (If it’s the latter thank me for 45p ;) )

Looks like LimeGreenTangerine and PHM are to thank for with their progressive advertising strategies.

Good work BIDS.

Right Scotty, time for you to buy the MG to help cement justification of using BIDS ;)

Just to add to that please see more Adidas ads here:

This is now my Vimeo account tracking different adverts I notice. The videos show them off better imo.

Interestingly, this looks to be retrospective ad placement during replays of key events at the end of the game. This is brilliant if so and something I recommended on this thread a while back. It’s very hot real estate because eyes will be on goals and them ads are 100% noticeable. Plus people tend to post them parts on YouTube.

Was speaking to a colleague at work yesterday who said his mate had invested in a company who advertises on billboards in-game. Needless to say, it was no other than BIDS. Vary rarely discuss investments at work so was pretty amazed it cropped up in convo. Anyway, my colleague is going to have a closer look after my conversation :)

Wonder if he is on the BB already!

Word is spreading!

In with the Times today, is a magazine called Luxx.
There's two page article titled A Whole New Game.
Only saying the same sorts of things folks on here have already pointed out,
that the British video-game market is worth £5.7b.
More than the film and the music industries combined.
This is Just the British market !

It is SEAQ that has the 1 1/2p spread..... currently 29.5 - 31 as you can probably see.
The wide spread is generally to protect the market makers as they are obliged to trade at these prices albeit the EMS (execution market size) is only 20,000 shares.

Most retail orders are executed on the RSP (Retail service provider) and the spread is often tighter.
Just checked the RSP and the price is as follows at this precise moment:-
30 bid for 75,000 and 30.66 offered in 50,000
