Why tell us that a meeting is due to be held...why not wait until the meeting has been held and the decision made !?

Is that the BoD's idea of good news before the up coming AGM ?

Well it is looking slightly better today. Chart wise.

Nothing more to add.

No update from GF in Q3, but i wasn't expecting any on mankayan.

Here's hoping.

From GF's Quarterly Update Report:

The Foreign Technical Assistance Agreement ("FTAA")
application submitted in November 2011 requires Free Prior
Informed Consent ("FPIC") of the indigenous people. The
FPIC process, suspended at a national level in the June 2012
quarter, recommenced this quarter and is scheduled to be
completed in the December 2012 quarter.

However no mention - direct or indirect - of Mankayan in the report.

Whilst I agree the goings on internally are more than a little disconcerting we cant be drawn away from our main focus - Mankayan.

Now Gf have just announced 3rd qtr numbers - below predicted estimates but with a strike and a fire they were never going to be great.

however, the FTAA for Lepanto looks like it has run out of time - What are the consequences for BZT? And it is this point which needs to be addressed now. What 'wriggle' room does the option allow GF?

There are numerous articles stating mining investment is down 50% on the year in PH based on the long running EO and mining revenue sharing agreement debate. On the positive side GF have already put $220m into buying 40% of FSE with 20% on hold until the FTAA is granted. THe idea was the FTAA would be in place in 2012 leaving GF to pay the final 120minstalement and take up the BZT option in 2013 with their 2013 acquisition budget. Now that plan is screwed. What are GF's intentions??

To be honest a delay wont be too bad long run although alot of spread positions will be closed out. If they asked for a delay it would mean their intentions are to take up the option - the share price would immediately fall like a stone but bounce back over time - not really the result we want but not end game either.

However, after waiting so long BZT should give their frustrated shareholders the info they need to make the decision as what to do now not leave it to a make or break RNS.

THe fact the directors took 800,000 out to make the annual loss 1.8m is mind boggling, especially for those that took part in the placement at 50p. THey basically took their money halved their investment and allegedly paid it to themselves!!!

I am on the circulation for the group but like many others I hold shares in BZT through a nominee account with my broker. It will take time to contact the broker to get my vote cast in favour of any resolutions proposed by the group. Not sure if my vote will get through in time for the coming meeting
