Got out with loss on the SB- didn't fancy uncertainty, now that business won't continue and limited upside. Should have closed Fri

If takeover price 5.9m why is market cap 2.8m? (based on what I read briefly on the Metro this morning).

Small consolation for shareholders. Bodog will benefit from the Euro multi-currency platform and the rest of Betcorp's work.

It's "deadly" who posted not me.

I have none of these but it gives hope for LNG.

Opened small bullish SB. Fall seems much overdone at face value.

Dealy- well done if you got in cheaper

It's a peculiar announcement, very bullish about prospects yet admits decision to cut telephone betting from the US will impact on turnover. More here:

What? No interest in this one? These results show how ridiculously cheap they are now. Perhaps no-ones got the guts to buy them at present but they must be a winner from here.

Up from the open...nice rise so far - though not a lot of interest here. Looks like people have forgotten this one in the betting bounce back.

Looks liked they've moved up on L2 a little since yesterday.
Online buying limits reduced from 25k to 7.5k. Due a bounce around from this level perhaps?

Phone betting is where these guys are exposed because that is explcitly illegal under the wire act. As a pure internet play, it should be OK if the Senate does not pass the legislation. BSS was always susceptible because of the size of its phone betting operation. The failure of BSS could be a real plus for BCL and SBT.

Took a section from BSS statement

Meanwhile BetWWTS, another prominent sports betting operation that was also Indicted by the DoJ on May 16 2006, informed its customers that effective tomorrow the company will no longer accept bets via phone.

Great deal for the seller. Casino may be the saviour if the DoJ differentiate between sports betting and othet forms of online gambling. Things do not look good for this sector!

very unfortunate timing. the US focused oasis could probably have been purchased for half the 9.8m amount today.

Oasis is a great deal and diversifies away nicely from recreational betters into hard core Casino betters.

this oasis deal is exactly what the company shouldn't be doing... buying unsustainable turnover. if this company ever wants to compete with the big boys it needs a brand.

Would of thought we would of seen more volume today, very quiet.

So results are on the 15th Aug and they are ahead of market expectation. Anybody know what they were due to announce net profit wise?

Be lucky

The two key points for these deals are (i) the synergies and there are good ones and (ii) the opportunity to cross from sports book to casino and poker. We don't know about the latter.
