11/5/2007 12:26 | nick, one of my colleagues did contact WH and it was said a trading update would be put out after FY had ended. The director buying hopefully says they have good news to tell. | ![]() papalpower
11/5/2007 12:23 | Im not too sure whether they will put out an update or not PP. Hopefully ill get a reply and find out for sure when WM returns. What would be nice is if hes not on holiday but instead spending time at various airports signing up new contracts. Looks like the price action is two steps forward and one step back ATM. That suits me fine as it allows the weak hands to exit as we move higher, rather than en masse after a large spike upwards. Im a little suprised we haven't got any company despite the sharp move higher over the last couple of months. Im not complaining as the LGT board is just as dead and we are doing equally well there. | ![]() nickcduk
11/5/2007 12:14 | 2.5K buy, tick up. nick, I would guess then that we might get an update next week, or soon after then ? | ![]() papalpower
10/5/2007 01:05 | Thanks for that nick. A 7K buy at 78p (2p above the offer price) shows just how short stock is. | ![]() papalpower
09/5/2007 14:11 | I wouldn't expect much prior to the 15th. I emailed William Hindmarch about whether a trading statement was to be expected. I recieved an auto-reply saying he won't be back in the office until the 15th. Nice trickle of buys today has undone the damage a few sells did last week. A lot more volume on the downside than up suggests MM are short of stock and have a ready buyer at hand. | ![]() nickcduk
09/5/2007 12:37 | I get the feeling news is near, a trading update would be nice, especially if it says "ahead of expectations". | ![]() papalpower
09/5/2007 08:35 | 2.5K buy and tick up again. | ![]() papalpower
08/5/2007 12:50 | 2.5K buy, tick up, another 2.5K buy, tick up. Very illiquid, and if we get a good trading update (which the recent director buying hopefully suggests), could spark some fireworks. DYOR ! | ![]() papalpower
05/5/2007 07:30 | All quiet, small retrace, should be about time for a trading update imo, they are now into the next financial year, so a trading update ahead of closed period would be in order. | ![]() papalpower
22/4/2007 12:45 | Apart from the on line presence, Best of the Best plc Locations are at: Heathrow T1, T3, & T4, Gatwick North & South, Stansted, Luton, Manchester T1 & T2, Edinburgh and Glasgow | ![]() papalpower
20/4/2007 13:55 | HY end is Oct 31st, so FY end is 30th April. Given the last director buy was 5th April, you would expect there to be no news for around 4 weeks after, so I am going to guess we should get something early in May after the FY end. The director buying says to me its going to likely be good news, but as always DYOR ! | ![]() papalpower
20/4/2007 06:27 | Errr.. would love to know how you know the big winners are rich and the small winners common. Please do explain this revelation in insight, as I really would love to know how you work this out without seeing their bank accounts and jobs etc..... Have you found a way to check their wealth on line from their name ? or are you just talking bollo............ ;) :) | ![]() papalpower
20/4/2007 02:30 | Are they making money? Tickets are very expensive and the winners appear to be hand picked imo. All big winners are the "Surgeon Smythe Jones" types. All ten pound mini winners are common, is it all rigged? PS Rich people are the least likely to buy a spot the ball competition ticket so why are they winning all the time? | ![]() debaleb
19/4/2007 00:40 | leyton, thats why they have recently also moved into online sales of tickets. Its not only the holiday travellers, these big cars appeal to the business community, and their travel is as ever increasing. What you have to look for is footfall through the airport, total number of passengers, and thats at pretty healthy levels. The online sales also add repeat customers into the equation, they might buy their first ticket at an airport, they will check the result on line, and then be able to also buy another ticket on line, without the need to go through an airport. This is why, IMO, the move to the on line side has really bumped up their sales (along with the price reduction) and very likely why directors are buying and we could be looking for "exceeding market expectations" soon. | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 20:16 | Report of fewer trAVELLING ABROAD COS OF HEATWAVE | leytonorient
18/4/2007 15:35 | Yes, that makes sense and certainly the rationale behind it in driving sales and generating more interest is there. The more interest they generate, the more the snowball effect comes into play. | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 15:24 | I think the biggest difference to BEST has been the reduction in the price for tickets to the main draw. They used to be 60 pounds and thats a bit steep really. They then reduced it to 20 pounds which seems to have attracted a lot more revenue and customers. 20 pounds is ok to spend whilst waiting in the airport lounge before going off to a package holiday or a stag do but 60 pounds is looked upon as a lot of beer money or is likely to have the wife whinging about wanting some new shoes. | ![]() nickcduk
18/4/2007 15:13 | nick, I really think the "ahead" statement is possible, based on what I have heard of things really picking up since they launched the on line play, to go with the off line side. We will see soon, but I think BEST could well be outperforming present expectations. | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 15:07 | Im not complaining PP!. We have broken out to new highs now as well. The obvious signs have been there for ages with the persistant director buying. Now we are getting the peristant small buying to help us on our way. Im hoping we get some new contract wins announced soon. They were alluded to in a previous announcement and I wouldn't be suprised if they are close to being announced. Year end isn't too far away either. I wouldn't mind a trading update shortly afterwards saying profits materially ahead of expectations either. :-) | ![]() nickcduk
18/4/2007 15:00 | Well nick, a 2.5K buy now puts us up to 72p offer price. 3.5K total today so far = 7.75% rise, thats nice. L2 2 v 2 @67/72 | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 14:37 | There really does seem to be no stock on the MM books, they are waiting for sells and able not to lift it up due to lack of buyers. It would not take much buying volume and you'll see it fly (as was seen by the person wanting 13K yesterday having to pay 72p (or 6p over the advertised offer for just a ten thousand pound buy) | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 14:31 | The new thread looks really good PP. Hopefully it will attract a few more punters to the table. We are not far off from breaking out to new highs now. Im sure when we do a few more investors will take note. | ![]() nickcduk
18/4/2007 14:24 | tic toc - up on a 1K buy. L2 2 v 2 @ 63/68 | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 12:24 | Latest Best of the Best competition : | ![]() papalpower
18/4/2007 08:18 | Ticking up again, they are short of stock as its getting very difficult to buy on line now, but you can sell as many as you want. | ![]() papalpower |
