"Numis analysts increased their profit forecasts for Bellway for both 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 on the back of the results. They now expect pretax profit for the current financial year of 225.3 million pounds, up from 215.3 million previously.
"Bellway remains the cheapest stock in the sector despite the fact it is showing one of the highest levels of earnings growth, has ROCE (return on capital employed) in line with the sector despite boasting a more prudent balance sheet and also has significant exposure to the better performing regions of the South East and London," they wrote in a research note."

Great results

Bellway has made significant progress in the six months ended 31 January 2014, with a 74.9% rise in earnings per share to 66.3p and a 660 bps increase in return on capital employed to 17.1%. These substantial improvements have been driven by growth in volume, average selling price and operating margin.

Ebbsfleet news of 15000 new homes is helping today, not sure if Bellway are involved.

It seems that all the Balham apartments have been sold now, they are not on their website. The Clapham apartments must be available soon.

Middle name Russell, so I'm not a Doc ;-)
I agree re news hopefully bringing back some share price on the slide, though I see the slide as FTSI index knock on rather than property/BWY specific.
Dave.

Thank-you Disco Dave, I caught the garden city aspect on the news but didn't hear of the extension, which I was half expecting to see watered down in some way, so thanks for the link.

I believe Bellway have an option on some land next to their current development in Rayleigh. They are not selling the show homes there as they will use them for the office/show homes for the next plot.

Daily Mail Feb 8
There is no stopping the booming UK housing market and Bellway erected a gain of 20p to 1612p ahead of Tuesday's annual results. Peel Hunt is a buyer and is expecting 16 per cent volume growth to 6,500 units, and a stonking 27pc jump in the dividend. The trading statement in mid-December was upbeat and anecdotal evidence from the sector since shows that activity has been unusally good over the Christmas period.
