God, this is a grim share to hold. Is there anyone else sharing the pain. Speak up now cos I don't want to hear from you all when this is soaring.

"The Cempaka project is held in an 80% JV with the Indonesian government mining group P.T. Antam."

Think I overlooked the overhead statement in my previous calculations. Shouldn't make too much difference if we mine the projected amount of diamonds and gold.

Expecting the 1moz announcement by the end of next month so with the usual mining company delays we should have it by September!!

Thanks for the response Ged ... £3m is the group overhead assumed in the broker note pa ... what do you mean by 80%?

muttleyrules, thanks for your question.

I agree with most of your figures.

Using the same sources we are given an average $299 sales $206 costs.

Projected carats per month is 8000.

Taking 80% gives a profit of about $7.1M

I have missed the 3m overheads. I'm not sure where this comes from.

Upside from here:-

We have been told that costs are going to be cut so there should be an increase in the above profit figures.

Also don't forget that Martapura is very similar to Cempaka and at Bobaris I've been told there are diamonds everywhere. It is the source of Cempaka and Martapura. These 2 projects will be started when the others give enough cash flow.

We should be hearing about an increase in resources at Woodlark by the end of next month

Read the broker report ... and looked at the quarterly diamond mine update. Sales in Q1 looked disappointing but are expected to improve as they target higher grade blocks. If you assume they sell 32000 cts this yr that makes for a $3m profit. With overheads of £3m per annum that pretty wipes out profits ... so i assume the buy case is all about a ramp up in production ... but if you assume 140000 cts pa (post Stage 2) at $250 per ct you end up with $35m of revs and profits of c$6m (i assume $206 of cost pe ct as per quarterly update). Less £3m overhead you only make a small profit. To make it more exciting you have to assume $300 per ct which makes £7.5 or £4.5m after head office and £3m post tax ... this is a cash flow that might only last for 10 years.

So ignoring the gold story where's the upside here?

not bad, as only 18,700 buys and 686k sells (or something along those lines). So perhaps fair to say we've reached a bottom and even mms happy to keep it there?

in any case, it was my best performing commodity share of the day.

Meanwhile, somewhere in a parallel universe, BDI Mining continues to show no correlation whatsoever with... er... anything much....

Approximately 27M shares were held by institutions at this time.

cestnous,

Main holdings since the beginning of the year + VLK and WHI here:-

Yep BMG letting me down

Cheered me up seeing a .5p rise. Reading teletext this morning it looks like we're overdue a 5% drop for the market in general. 3% drop since Wednesday so not much further to go perhaps.

ramnik007, if you look on the minesite presentation it gives all the institutions holdings. If you can't be bothered I'll be checking next week - been too busy this week.

Which financial institutes hold this stock, and what % is held by them. It looks like someone wants to be out of this stock and any positive newsflow is being used to sell into the mkt.
