07/5/2006 18:32 | I am interested in buying some of these as they seem to have 2 very interesting projects. I am however a little concerned about the bosses selling shares last November. Can any current holder reassure me as to the possible reason for this prior to me investing my hard earned!. would also like to hear any other thoughts about this company and the projects. | gisjob
03/5/2006 00:34 | Re BDI I wonder if the seller has finished yet ? notice the purchases are going through at higher prices now. | kickstart
03/5/2006 00:33 | I assume you are 5talking about RAB, they were never in AVM. Yes I did take the opportunity to buy more but I dont like manipulation. | kickstart
01/5/2006 22:22 | also has to be said that a certain well known commod hedge fund was the only willing funder of many smaller minex if you go back a couple of years. can't really blame them for taking their profits. | rambutan2
01/5/2006 21:42 | Kickstart "I suspect AVM will rise strongly tomorrow but this sort of behaviour is a Fxxcking disgrace." Surely if the price moves in the wrong direction, this is GOOD. It gives you a chance to buy more (if it drops) or sell (if it goes too high). What is worrying, is the large spread. If you are a LTBH, does it matter? | dcomd99
01/5/2006 19:30 | These bloody hedgefunds are a nightmare. I have a large position in AVM (Avocet) and last Friday there were strings of 5,000 share sales all at the same time which pushed the price down like a rocket. Fortunately sense prevailed as the buyers took advantage of the rediculous dip. Like BDI ( although on a much bigger scale ) AVM are still rediculously undervalued compared say to POG and their other peers. I suspect AVM will rise strongly tomorrow but this sort of behaviour is a Fxxcking disgrace. Just pure manipulation. Time they were regulated more strongly. | kickstart
28/4/2006 20:23 | rambutan2, Like you and several others on this thread I am very confident that this company will eventually get its due recognition. Diamonds and gold are winners. Hope the Morgan boy sees sense and chooses this company for his fund. Question:- If a hedge fund is selling then isn't that shares they don't own? If so don't they have to buy them back again? If so won't the share price go ZOOOOOOOOOOM? | ged5
28/4/2006 15:59 | big piece on small aim diamond cos in ic today. rather oddly, i thought, bmg doesn't get a direct reco, even although the ex chairman is quoted and cempaka is given a mention. that said, it all v bullish for diamond producers over next decade, and apparently jp morgan's ian henderson is even considering launching a diamond fund. | rambutan2
28/4/2006 15:46 | Thanks ged5. | unionhall
28/4/2006 15:43 | Oh here we go again. The company are as concerned as us about the share price and as mentioned by unionhall many posts ago the company is aware of continual hedge fund selling. The company are continually giving us good news and so it heightens their concern. "..but the Company has already begun what is to be a concerted promotional push to attempt to address this problem." Don't know what more they can do. Cempaka is producing and Woodlark is developing rapidly. They'll soon have the million ounces (apparently by the 3rd quarter). All the best. | ged5
27/4/2006 22:31 | Should have edited that out faster.... | unionhall
27/4/2006 22:12 | unionhall, Thanks for the reply I wanted. You're absolutely right he has been extremely helpful. Just that I used to contact the FD of a company then one day they told me he was in a meeting. Within a month the company was suspended and I lost a large amount of money (almost what you spent on AIMR). That's why I'm a bit twitchy. This however is a completely different scenario. Plenty of potential, producing plenty of good diamonds and I think well run. (My comment above referred to the research report not the management.) I'm considering topping up here but want some answers about the placement. | ged5
27/4/2006 22:00 | Ged5, I'm sure your infamy means anything I could say about you would have no impact at this stage. CF is finance director of China Goldfields as well and they share offices/receptionist CF may be under time pressure as China Goldfields have a warrant conversion which closes tomorow (35million units). Beyond that I have found him again most helpful as i think you have found yourself. cheers... Off-topic - you guys in AIMR - hope we get an uplifting report tomorrow.... | unionhall
27/4/2006 21:46 | Welcome cestnous, Just have a feeling you're following me around. VLK, AIMR, RVD and now BMG. Do you want the rest of my portfolio? :) Can you buy 100000 tomorrow? We need this to start going up. Should have been 40/50p in January / February if we hadn't been misled about fundraising. unionhall, is CF still around he's not returning calls to me? I think the temp secretary said she is from China Goldfields. She said he was in a meeting and gave me Reg Spencer's email in Australia but he hasn't replied either. Maybe he didn't get the message! You haven't been telling stories about me have you? | ged5
27/4/2006 09:28 | Joined you today . Just had 10000 @ 27.75. Been watching for a while and the RI article makes me think that this stock is beginning to be noticed and hopefully, we are now at the bottom. Don't have level 2 but my broker tells me that all trades today are buys, not that there are a lot of them. Hope that this is only my first tranche.Time will tell. | cestnous
27/4/2006 09:15 | Couldn't have put it better! Nice to have some confirmation that one isn't a total lunatic holding this share ;-) | simon54
27/4/2006 06:19 | DD, R2, wow, Good stuff thanks for the early alert. The article certainly allays fears about the infrastructure at Cempaka. "Community and government relations as regards the project are good, with none of the well publicised acrimony that afflicts some of Indonesia's other mining operations. The mine's logistical situation is also an excellent one, with marine and air access an easy distance away by sealed road. All this makes Cempaka a high calibre development asset, and the potential for further discovery nearby is the icing on the cake." Also jonwig was worried about the unrest in that part of the world affecting mining operations. "Bonanza grades have already resulted from drilling and Woodlark has a record of historic gold production, as well as handily simple metallurgy. The island is also well away from the fractiousness that afflicts some parts of Papua New Guinea." but most important the reasons to invest:- "All this makes Cempaka a high calibre development asset, and the potential for further discovery nearby is the icing on the cake." "There is a lot of exploration still to be done, and a multi million ounce deposit is definitely not unthinkable, but bizarrely, this project too appears to receive little recognition from the market." "As things stand, BDI is a unique and appealing proposition, and those investors who get in before the market wakes up to this, as one day it must, could be especially richly rewarded." | ged5
27/4/2006 04:19 | Link to the RI article: good stuff | wayoutwest
27/4/2006 01:31 | also of interest... i wonder how much bdi pay www for the service. at the epd presentation last week mr spencer pointed out the cost of getting the diamonds to mkt. am sure 8-12% commission was mentioned. and of course, epd dropped www. out of interest, the deal epd got with bhp was said to be a very favourable 2%, but is for just 2yrs after which time epd are planning to be doing their own selling. and there i was thinking that once the diamonds left the mine, that was the costs finished with! | rambutan2
27/4/2006 00:15 | New Resource Investor article tonight, folks. To be found and well worth a read. It starts, "BDI Mining's Cempaka diamond mine in Indonesia looks as if it is shaping up into a very serious asset indeed, but the market as yet has no idea. When Cempaka is combined with BDI's Woodlark Island gold exploration project in Papua New Guinea, alert investors are presented with an alluring package." Very positive publicity indeed. "The market as yet has no idea". Well, as the saying goes, they do now, and I expect buying to result. DD | doobydave
26/4/2006 15:15 | well, the recent placing was at 28p, so a bit rubbish if offer drops below that. | rambutan2
26/4/2006 15:08 | It might be well timed. Just noticed the 20 day moving average is turning. Have we at last reached the bottom? | ged5
26/4/2006 12:01 | perhaps time for David Lenigas to show us a bit of his "magic" touch?! | rambutan2
25/4/2006 19:28 | How long's it going to be before they stop? Healthy volume though again today with some buying. Looks like it wants to push up. | ged5
25/4/2006 15:53 | that darn seller! | rambutan2 |
