25/4/2006 15:46 | If indeed... Thank goodness for water in the meantime. | unionhall
25/4/2006 15:44 | What's going on here today? Think we need news of the financing to push back up into the 30's and beyond. unionhall, wouldn't mind that pint if we ever do get to the 50's or 70's. Went for a week just outside the champange region and might just crack a bottle or 2. Or maybe I'll leave that for when we reach £1. | ged5
21/4/2006 09:49 | I assume the financing must be pretty much completed for them to be moving ahead into phaseII albeit a little later than planned. As mentioned above the wet season has been particularly bad this year so the diamond production for this quarter is particularly low. It looks like there will be much higher sales during the next quarter. | ged5
21/4/2006 09:40 | well this all seems very promising :-) | staymour
21/4/2006 09:32 | Much higher as the wet season can basically put a stop to some operations for that period. BMI seems to have kept things going, accepted at a much slower pace, but a positive outlook from now.. | milner2
21/4/2006 09:27 | notice in the report under Sales that the diamond inventory as at 31st March was 4,087 carats. This seems a high figure. With such a high starting inventory does this mean that the next quarter's sales figures are likely to be much higher than these? | staymour
21/4/2006 09:00 | LONDON - 21 April 2006 - BDI Mining Corp. ("the Company") announces its quarterly sales and operations report for its Cempaka alluvial gem diamond operation in Indonesia. Highlights: * Gross diamond and by-product sales of US$2.3M for the quarter * Operating costs per carat in line with expectations * Increased gold and platinum recoveries * Planning for Phase II production expansion at Cempaka now at advanced stage | unionhall
21/4/2006 08:35 | Got a mention in the IC. Just in the buy updates apparently. Anyone seen the article? | ged5
18/4/2006 17:12 | yep, make that a hat trick, upped mine too. | staymour
18/4/2006 16:44 | Yep done the same today, they are getting there. Also believe that they must have a nice parcel of Diamonds ready for sale, which should make tidy sum for BDI. Cheers. | milner2
18/4/2006 16:36 | Well, not a lot of excitement about the anticipated upgrade, but I've increased my holding today. | simon54
18/4/2006 10:00 | Well that's my 2 questions answered. The website's back online and a little above expectation for the upgrade. (Had expected 850000) | ged5
18/4/2006 09:47 | 880k oz Gold - starting to get there.... | unionhall
16/4/2006 12:21 | Thanks bageo it is a good summary. Anyone know what's happened to the website? Been away and completely out of touch. Also does anyone know when we are to get the resource upgrade? | ged5
07/4/2006 17:31 | High-grade gold in Papua New Guinea; diamonds in Indonesia The main focus of the article is on Woodlark - seems a good summary. | bageo
07/4/2006 17:05 | How could they? | ged5
07/4/2006 16:07 | noted piece in shares mag this week saying that due to strong demand from china de beers are set to increase price of diamonds within next few months. shares mag point to petra and firestone as producers who will benefit. but they forget bdi! | rambutan2
06/4/2006 12:10 | Interesting that Petra Diamonds, who too had WdB as Broker/NOMAD, have today announced they have changed advisers to Collins Stewart. Somthing going on there at WdB... | greg jenkins
04/4/2006 08:44 | A couple more links to research: Map showing villages: And importantly, quite a lot of background info in , from page 41 of the document on your screen (officially page 103 in the prospectus). Quite like the idea of a field trip! You might even find the odd rambutan on Woodlark? DD | doobydave
04/4/2006 00:48 | you at it as well dooby! yes, looks rather gorgeous - perhaps a research trip is in order! | rambutan2
04/4/2006 00:43 | a (not particularly helpfull) distant view... tides, shipping and weather... bit of (military) history... hmmm... The bibliography includes a list of his publications and one or two other items of potential interest, including Hank Nelson's (1976) book (see below) which contains an instructive chapter on the dismal history of gold mining in Woodlark. (134. Nelson, Hank. Black, White & Gold: Goldmining in Papua New Guinea 1878-1930. Canberra: AustralianNational University Press; 1976. xx, 298, [1] pp. Note: [from lit & archives: Sudest, Misima, Woodlark I, Laloki R, Southeast Papua, Mambare R, Yodda V,Gira R, Waria R, Milne Bay, Keveri, Lakekamu R, Edie Creek]. | rambutan2
04/4/2006 00:29 | For interest - there are some lovely pictures here: | doobydave
03/4/2006 17:36 | Not much further forward with answering my own question but it is slightly reassuring to see the presence of other mines nearby - though the Gospel according to Google indicates there probably isn't much mining activity on Woodlark nowadays. Most of it seems to be 50-100yrs old. The Environmental permitting might not be a foregone conclusion either. Second map is interesting in view of the results from holes 32 and 33. DD | doobydave
03/4/2006 17:19 | no woodlark international port and harbour facilities then! wonder how much gold a light aircraft can carry?! | rambutan2 |
