29/6/2006 17:12 | Would expect the next quarterly update from Cempaka in a couple of weeks time, should think that sales will have improved. Added a few more this week. Cheers. | milner2
29/6/2006 14:18 | Welcome back DD. I thought the costs for Woodlark were given on one of the links in the header but I can't find them. As I say I'll look on one of my computers over the weekend. I think I was e-mailed something about them. It could be I'm mistaken?? Given the complexity of the geological structures, what you say makes more sense. What's new there then? Anyway I spent 30 secs or so updating the header. I don't expect all my hard work to go unread. | ged5
29/6/2006 13:28 | Here's my tuppence... To be honest, I don't see how we can have a sensible stab at mining costs when we know neither the recovery rates nor the appropriate extraction processes. The ore could be refractory for all we know. Epithermal gold generally isn't, I believe, but until metallurgy is done (usually as part of the feasibility study) we are guessing extravagantly. Strip ratios should be low, but reading Ged's comments, I might have missed something here? Personally I'm more bothered by the small matter of a mining permit in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Has anyone noticed the new (June) investor presentation on BDI's website - . Regards, DD | doobydave
29/6/2006 10:11 | vermillion, I've never had any doubt about the resources it's just the funding that's keeping the share price depressed. The costs for Woodlark were discussed earlier on the thread. I have them on another computer and will post then over the weekend if no-one else replies to you. | ged5
27/6/2006 16:53 | Ged - massive resources waiting to be dug up, according to that presentation. Diamonds look low cost (open pit mining), not sure about the gold. Can anyone with mining experience guestimate cost of extraction per ounze/carat? | vermilion1966
27/6/2006 11:56 | Did anyone go to the AGM? Looks as though the market was expecting some news by the look of the share price action on the announcement. Notice the website has been updated. There is a new presentation: Link in the header. | ged5
16/6/2006 11:13 | Indicators beginning to look good. Board meeting over on the sites next week, probably in preparation for the AGM. | ged5
16/6/2006 09:10 | and going ? | blindfaith2
16/6/2006 08:40 | There you are Blindfaith. It's keeping on going. | ged5
15/6/2006 13:58 | Started buying again. This was too cheap to ignore at these prices. Still need questions answering about the last funding but otherwise the company seems to be in good shape. Perhaps the new directors are beginning to talk to their friends and making it known what tremendous prospects this company has. I think it's been said before that nobody in the City knows about this company. That I am most certain is about to change. Two investment bankers one from London the other from New York recently joining the Board. I don't think we'll be languishing at these levels for too much longer. | ged5
15/6/2006 13:40 | Hm................ nice bounce ! keep going | blindfaith2
14/6/2006 15:47 | Looking a bit better. Is something going on at last or is it just bargain hunters? | ged5
13/6/2006 22:16 | ouch! but can't say am surprised. | rambutan2
06/6/2006 11:56 | A little bit more about Mr. Bruce A Stewart:- Alastair Clayton, Executive Chairman of South China Resources plc, commented: ' We are delighted to have a person with such depth and breadth of experience joining our Board. 'Bruce's contacts and experience in the spheres of the Global Equity Markets, Hedge Funds, Portfolio Management and Mutual Funds in the United States, Europe, Australia and the Far East will be extremely useful to our Company as we grow and develop our business in China. 'Furthermore, his detailed understanding of debt, equity and mezzanine finance providers and products will prove invaluable when it comes to any future capital requirements. | ged5
06/6/2006 09:27 | So out go the non-exec Chairman and Chief Financial Officer and in come executives who have been with a New York investment bank and Barclays Capital. At a time when expenses seem to be mounting and no sign of the recent placing being fully taken up perhaps it was time for change. The gold project still looks as good as ever but we seem to be experiencing more delays reaching Phase 2 at Cempaka. All in all BMG doesn't quite seem the good investment of last Autumn. I'm sorry to see John Forrest go - he was a decent guy who was willing to talk about the company. Perhaps he's concentrating on GGG. | ged5
02/6/2006 10:27 | hi poacher, i lost your card! if you've still got mine could you email me so i've got a contact - no message/niceties required! yes, re lonrho, that had crossed my mind, but in interviews ive seen with lenigas he emphasis that lonrho an african asset gatherer. so i think unlikely. note that bdi agm set for 27 june. so a chance to eyeball the management. | rambutan2
02/6/2006 10:14 | Perhaps it is going to join with Lonrho | poacher45
02/6/2006 00:16 | what's going on behind the scenes... In addition to Mr. Horgan's appointment to the Board of BDI Mining Corp, the Company also reports the resignation of John Forrest, formerly Director and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Forrest resigns after 10 years with the Company, and leaves to pursue other business interests. and where is it leading bdi to? | rambutan2
01/6/2006 11:17 | Looks good in the long term; if they get production up to what they say. They would undoubtedly have risen before the present climate of uncertainty took over, but for now, I see no real reason for people to rush in and buy. Most folks seem to be in a 'wait and see' mode at the moment. (Plus they have not mentioned further fund raising or which won't help.) | cestnous
01/6/2006 11:02 | cestnous Good results? Yes - only worry seems to be level of debt - anyone out there better versed in finacials to give an opinion? | vermilion1966
01/6/2006 10:53 | Results out; no posts. No price movement. Nurse! Where's my slippers? | cestnous
31/5/2006 13:20 | Topped up the small holding i have in BDI, looks good value ahead of annual results due end of this week. Cheers.... | milner2
19/5/2006 14:35 | There you go, it was just time to register your complaints! Keep moaning and we might keep rising! | simon54
19/5/2006 10:24 | Poacher That's known as 'the IC effect'. | cestnous |
