Can I be a cheerleader with no experience?
Yes, you can become a cheerleader with no cheer experience. It is not guaranteed, but it's definitely possible. I am a firm believer in going for anything that is important to you or any goal that you strive to achieve.

Well said Paulisi. What’s the point of this board if it’s cheerleaders only? I want to know all the pros AND cons of my investments.

I really enjoy this board and the difference in views. Long may it continue. There has been criticism of the information communicated from the board at times, sometimes justified.

Once I see further development of products

So all the updates from the company on the medical side of the business haven't convinced you.Your choice.

"icemaninvestor - 29 Apr '21 - 00:50 - 18441

Anyone else agree or does everyone here just view the company through rose-tinted spectacles which is very dangerous when it comes to investing."

We the readers of this BB are on the defensive when it comes to icemaninvestor as some of us feel slightly under attack with comments such as the one above.

Please note that there are more options other than either agreeing with you or viewing the company through rose-tinted spectacles.

Hey DocCash, please go back and read my post, I said I sold *most* of my BVC holding last year. That's why i haven't been tracking the company as closely as I was. Once I see further development of products / increased sales I will look to increase my holding once more. And if products being announced in an RNS don't make it to market I want to know about that too.

2% up on TASE with 50% higher volume thus far today.

Was expecting an RNS re dividend today. Can't see it coming on a Friday so will likely have to wait until next week.

You are not investing You already said you have sold out last year. If you think BATM diagnostic arm is not producing product that covid requires suggest you buy into a company solely involved in selling innacurate lateral flow tests.Good luck.

I thought you were referring to the home test kit that detected cover, flu or cold.I think they launched it in Israel first. I guess sales aren't big enough to warrant another RNS yet. It is probably targeting big sales from Sept onwards when the weather changes.

Wasn't there some connection with India .... can't help thinking that with the crisis going on over there, BATM might be involved .. ?

This is what Iceman is referring to. I think ?
The tests are sputum sourced lateral flow tests with instant results like a pregnancy test.

They were being developed with NovaMed Israel. Not sure where they plan to manufacture them or under what label etc. They do exist as Zvi had examples of them during one of his video updates. Lateral flow tests caught a lot of bad press due to their limitations on accuracy. The ones they were/are developing are apparently much more accurate albeit there are limitations with all of these tests.

The rapid pcr test employing rolling cell amplification is a different item and is far more of a diagnostic tool which is what we really do need to have in the field.

Added contextual comment FWIW. The world got excited about Covid19 but it is hardly the only concern that we have. BATM medical and its subsidiaries are trying to offer a platform for clients to detect and manage a variety of infectious diseases. What they do want to achieve is to get their readers into the market a then resupply with reagents. The way we manage infectious disease outbreaks clearly has not worked with more misinformation out there than there are relevant solutions.
There are also "arguably" more wrongly diagnosed cases than there are actual ones.

hxxps://www.batm.com/rns-rnr/posts/2020/december/update-on-ador-diagnostics/

Ador has developed a new innovative technology based on the polymerase chain reaction (“PCR”) process as well as an isothermal method called rolling circle amplification (“RCA”) to enable NATlab to increase the speed of providing sample-to-answer diagnostics to under 30 minutes.

RCA-based molecular diagnosis offers significant advantages compared with the PCR process. Due to the different methods for replicating the genetic material in a sample, RCA is less prone to errors and the reaction with the test material occurs in c. 15-20 minutes compared with c. 60-90 minutes for PCR. As a result, the NATlab system will now be able to provide test results in a significantly shorter amount of time and with greater accuracy than first envisaged.

Thanks DocCash but that RNS is for a PCR test not the lateral flow test to which I was referring. You do know the difference between the two, right? There has been no RNS announcing the launch of the lateral flow test which is why I was wondering what happened to it? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Ha! The RT PCR kits are more reliable than lateral flow tests as well. The 'Gold Standard'. Expecting good news to come as global demand for the PCR tests is rocketing.

I sold most of my BVC holding last year so haven't been following the company as closely as I was. Does anybody know what happened to the Novamed partnership for a new rapid diagnostics sputum based kit for home use (these tests are commonly called lateral flow tests). It was announced in an RNS on 19Mar2020 and it was expected to be completed in 3-4 months. Did Zvi ever mention that this was put into the too-hard basket?

>jd.... I agree but over the last period we have had holidays, election in Israel and a generally low volume. They are as I say getting walked around on low volumes.

Added: Of interest is that the insect protein initiative is well under way with Celitron

FSE, may i just add that-
Arm, a supplier of semiconductor IP, is making a $3 million to $4 million strategic investment in Telco Systems, dually headquartered in Mansfield, Massachusetts and northern Israeli town Yokneam, as part of a joint development agreement. Telco is a subsidiary of London-listed BATM Advanced Communications.

A reminder ! This initiative gained traction at the end of last summer.

Out With the Old, in With Arm
To put this theory to the test, Arm worked with NXP Semiconductors and Telco Systems to develop a proof of concept uCPE appliance running virtual network functions (VNFs) and cloud-native network functions (CNF).

“Arm-based uCPEs running cloud-native software stacks can be scaled from four to 32 cores and provide enterprise-grade connectivity services to a broad set of markets,” Ramirez wrote.

The proof of concept was rather simple and not all that different from a traditional white-box appliance running on Intel or AMD hardware. But rather than x86 hardware, the appliance leveraged Arm Neoverse-based chips from NXP and VNFs for functions like SD-WAN, firewall, and routing from Telco Systems’ NFVTime platform.

The hardware was deployed by Vodafone in small to mid-sized business and enterprise use cases across the U.K.

“The Vodafone team successfully deployed and managed VNF and CNF applications running on an efficient 4-core Arm Cortex-A72 processor with a typical power consumption of 35 [watts]. Following this success, on an 8-core Arm processor, they delivered an impressive 15 Gb/s throughput of [internet mix] traffic by offloading [Open vSwitch] to hardware acceleration blocks demonstrating the ability to handle demanding traffic requirements,” wrote Ramirez. “Combined together, these results highlight this solution’s high performance and low carbon footprint.”
