31/1/2014 19:10 | >JD..... I heard that rumour but could in no way substantiate it ... still there it is the two appear to have met thats possible. It looks as if the reason for their meeting might not be what was concluded, maybe they met to corroborate on a project ..... thanks for finding the link. Does it make sense though ? IMO it probably does as there are two driving forces here. One the rapid rise of the medical division. Remember Dr Marom said from the outset that the company was investing in the medical division to try to smooth out the unpredictable revenues from the Telco arm. In truth the industry has been challenged with an ever changing technology which is almost impossible to stay on top of. Would they sell the entire company ? No way the two divisions are not even remotely connected. What in the world would Mellanox want with the medical division ! The Telco division nevertheless has just secured a win with the Israeli upgrade initiative and as such would have significant value to Mellanox. Is this good or bad news ? BATM and I hasten to add others (their peers) have struggled with the Telco supply business. The future does not look bad for the Telco division but its becoming increasingly at odds with what BATM as a whole are now doing and its arguably not in their interests to run both divisions. Management appear to have held back until they felt the medical division was in profit and had a decent future. Thats appears to now be the case. Of course we will end up with a medical supply company now which is not what most or any of us originally invested in the company for. It would allow the medical division the time and extra cash to pursue their goals. UK investors shafted ? I really can not understand what solar is getting at in the above post unless its in response to the whole company Telco / Medical etc all being sold and at a cheap price. Thats highly unlikely and in any event Israeli investors and UK investors all hold shares in the same company its not different for one or the other! Look I am as frustrated with BATM share price performance as the next guy but the company has actually made huge progress interspaced with problems that they have managed to sort out. A confirmed take over of the Telco division ought to send the share price north unless there is bad news in there we do not yet know about. | fse
30/1/2014 23:00 | cheeky13 Indeed so. -------------------- Mellanox said to be weighing purchase of BATM Mellanox Technologies, whose chips are used to speed electronic data transfer, is considering purchasing Israel's BATM Advanced Communications, sources told TheMarker. Mellanox CEO Eyal Waldman and BATM CEO and controlling shareholder Zvi Marom have met to discuss a full or partial sale. BATM, whose London Stock Exchange shares trade at a market capitalization of $100 million, designs and manufactures telecommunications products and medical laboratory diagnostic systems, but sources said Mellanox in only interested in the former. Marom declined comment. Its shares were up 2% in New York early afternoon Monday local time. (Dror Reich) -------------------- Regards. DYOR | james dean

27/1/2014 08:21 | Just looked at BVC on the Tel-Aviv exchange. Intraday chart shows BVC rising ~ 35% from 90 - 120 ! ... and then settle back down with a small rise. Not sure what that was all about, but certainly a spell of excitement for the BVC share price over there it seems. | nilip

10/1/2014 13:20 | I think the future of telecoms is inextricably linked to medical data.We are just at the beginning of a surge in Telemedicine. Also saw the guy from Netflix who is saying similarly that we are just at the beginning of the internet tv age.All this data needs faster/better networks. It is very frustrating at the moment but I intend to stick here to see how it plays out. | spekky
