19/10/2017 15:32 | Yes echo that. Thanks to Geri for the background info from the AGM. It would take very little for BATM and Telco systems to get back into growth mode given their present turnover. They are playing in a field of $bn companies. | fse

19/10/2017 11:08 | BATM AGM 18/10/2017 Just my impressions so make your own decisions. I will address the options issue first. This was rejected. There was a debate around this and the debate was wide ranging. The UK is currently scrutinisng executive salaries more and I asked had they discussed it with the institutions before making the resolution and what was the support for that. The answer was 75% for and 25% against. As a very small player I have to respect the views of the institutions. The CFO had discussed it with the institutions and also KPMG. The option were set at the current share price and activated after 24 and 36 months. I suggested that I fully supported options but why not action them at a higher share price when targets have been achieved. Dr Zvi Marom then replied and said he feels that it is easy to get an share price up by selling valuable assets/intellectual property and people are tempted to take the short term approach rather than grow the business and let the share price look after itself. The company has no debt; has not come back to shareholders for funds; the salaries of staff is low by international comparisons and he has not taken a pay rise in 12 years. He travels economy; does not have a car allowance and wants the team to have genuine performance parameters rather than the machinations of playing the share price All R and D is carried out from revenue and has never been capitalised. All excellent points imo. The fact that most staff are in Israel rather than the UK or the US is another factor. I am sure this issue will be resolved and I felt it was a useful discussion. It will take him from 23% to 24% which is not a lot in the scheme of things and the company has been his baby. Xvi then went into his summary of events and started with 2007! The mobile phone was a phone and little else. It was hardware driven. With the introduction of the smartphone-in 2007 the world changed. The smartphone is a computer with a phone app. The software is the key not the hardware and the process is customer centric not network centric. BATM has been developing its telco side along these lines while companies like Nortel and others have fallen by the wayside. BATM has at least survived! The recent RNS talking about the collaboration with ARM is an example of that. They have been working together for a year and their software on the ARM processor means that software can function on any hardware. Not Intel centric on Intel or ARM centric on ARM. This app allows any software on either processor. ARM is more cyber secure than Intel but less software can run on it. Intel is less cyber secure but can run more software options. BATM is now in discussion with both after the Exhibition in Amsterdam last week. The second element to all this is cybersecurity. It is a strategic issue not just a “defence” It was also pointed out that Israel has a higher GDP per capita than the UK and the basis of that is their science and tech industry. Worth noting. BATM has over 1000k scientists/engineers and he is clearly proud of what they achieve. | gerihatrick
18/10/2017 22:38 | >Barrie..... thats about my take on the matter. It was premature to push for an incentives settlement albeit not particularly detrimental in itself, but as you say shareholders want to see performance in the bottom line. The timing was poor and ill conceived. I also agree that the company does appear to have massive "potential" ;-) | fse
18/10/2017 20:44 | At last some common sense, I feel vindicated now and I am sorry you all had to put up with my rants!!!!!!!! Perhaps we can move on now and perhaps the weak lily-livered drooling remuneration committee members who approved this for voting on will have the guts to bring him to heel next time he puts them under pressure to approve an action that they must surely know is just excessive greed and not in the best interests of all shareholders. When he has made his loyal share holders some decent money perhaps we may feel differently although why he needs even more of a stake in it is beyond me. Perhaps this may focus his attention a little more and we may all benefit from the massive potential this company has over the next few years. Good luck to all share holders as it looks as though the latest RNS is having a positive effect. AIMHO | barrieb

17/10/2017 18:01 | Can't help wondering why they flagged it as "European".....when they have always generalised .Are they simply saying it's not USA or Isreal.....? ie. Their offering has worldwide appeal. | spekky
17/10/2017 17:24 | AGM tomorrow. I doubt we will hear any further information as to the current state of the company or expectations they will just pass resolutions etc. We may get a brokerage feed back meeting after the AGM. The POC contract ought to yield revenue over time. They have a couple of these out there at the moment and did receive some $4 to $5 M initially from a defence contract. Its not big money at the moment but this is another solution that can be integrated into more complete offerings. Its progress ! maybe with a small "p" | fse

17/10/2017 15:16 | BATM awarded cyber security contract by European government 17 October 2017 StockMarketWire.com - BATM Advanced Communications' cyber security subsidiary Celare has been awarded a proof-of-concept contract to be the main supplier of cyber monitoring and detection systems for a European country. BATM said Celare will start the POC contract immediately and receive approximately US$350,000 upon completion, which was scheduled to be by the end of Q1 2018. BATM chief executive Dr Zvi Marom said: 'We are delighted to be chosen by another government to install our cyber system as a cornerstone in their planning. 'We believe that cyber solutions will be an essential element in every country and in all corporates for years to come, and we are gearing up to be a significant player in this market.' 12/10/2017 17:58 | From what I can gather the shift towards SDN and cloud based software solutions for managing data/applications is gradually gaining momentum. The scenario is very different than a few years ago when it was a maybe. Telco systems and BATM software arm appear well poised to finally take advantage from the change in direction that they made. Whats been "not to like" and why the share price has languished is the market has been unconvinced and revenue has fallen over the years. Personally I feel that the company turned the corner a couple of years ago and from their perspective its going well to plan. There is a disconnect with the markets regarding sales/revenue, whether their solutions will be adopted and how long that could take to turn into meaningful bottom line sales. Shore brokerage comments are IMO correct this time round. The share price does not reflect progress made...... | fse
12/10/2017 08:19 | Thanks James and Reeltime, much of it above my head but when I see collaborations with the likes of NXP and Arm I start to see scale and, more importantly, acknowledgement of their IP and hopefully, some light at last, for BATM's tech division. | cumnor
12/10/2017 08:11 | A little more coverage: StockMarketWire.com - BATM Advanced Communications' wholly-owned subsidiary, Telco Systems, together with NXP Semiconductors have launched the industry's first and only Arm-based uCPE networking technology solution. BATM said this utilises the group's NFVTime plug-and-play solution that enables network function virtualisation. It said that as a result, the group's NFV and software-defined network solutions, which were already integrated with Intel-based platforms, were now available on all major architectures. It added: 'The new solution, which is commercially available, was developed by Telco and NXP, in close collaboration with Arm. 'Telco has become an Arm ecosystem partner - and is the only such partner to enable NFV infrastructure.' The group said it expected to receive initial sales from the new platform in 2017.
