Proactive today: Base Resources Ltd said mining at its Kwale Operations in Kenya returned to normal over the last week after an outage caused by local flash flooding.

And the minerals sands producer told investors it remains on track to achieve its financial year 2022 production guidance.

A series of mitigations were implemented to reduce the likelihood of future flooding, despite it being an “abnormal weather event,” the group said.

These include the construction of extra storm water diversion bunds and the acquisition of supplementary high-capacity diesel dewatering pumps.

Its shares rose 2.9% to 16.0p on the news.

Kenya mine all back to normal production with no impact on the yearly production good news from the company via email last night at 01 15 gmt
Base Resources has announced to the ASX that mining activity at it's Kwale Operations have returned to normal following localised flooding last week.

FY22 production guidance has also been confirmed.

Toliara proposals in front of Govt and supported by President's advisors. "Pretty close now" and "all stars seem to be aligning" sounds very encouraging to me. I liked this also - "A Company of real strategic relevance" - yes indeed.
Also noted that the Co. plan to complete work on Lower Sands (Rare Earth opportunities) by end of 2022. Significant further opportunities which aren't factored in yet.
And weeks away from approval in Kenya to carry out further exploration work.

Sorry for some reason, which I cannot recall, I thought you lived in Australia. Yes I follow them on Twitter. They seem very good at promoting their ESG commitments. Like you say it is nice to see. They seem a cut above the average. I just hope the powers that be in Madagascar also take notice. Time for some news hopefully not that far away now. Good luck to us all.

Hi plasybryn no I’m not affected by the weather in my hometown uk
Your quite right it could be the bank holding but I also think that if they are holding client accounts the same rules apply
The clue was in the amount of sells and buys in the announced news its still good news either way as it was a position buy outcome
Did you see the the tweet about the regeneration planting around our mine in Kenya superbly photographed its a testament to our responsibility of reinstalling the land back to a better state than when we started mining these ares

Surely must be the Bank themselves buying otherwise I don't think it would necessitate an RNS.Have a good weekend. I hear some areas in Australia are struggling to get House Insurance due to flooding risks. Hope this isn't effecting you Jane.

RNS out today.
Bank of America increased their voting power in Base Resources to 63,419,268 ordinary shares, representing 5.38% of the total Base Resources ordinary shares on issue.

Nice show of confidence. On the basis of that I bought a few more!

I believe they will move forward with more exploration permits leading to mining permits in Kenya and other countries in Africa
