Depending upon the merits of the case, litigation funding has a very deep pot.
I would guess more than the Irish government can afford to lose.
See Burford Capital/YPF/Argentine government for a recent example of political hubris gone wrong.

I must admit I am shell shocked that LG and Pageant are letting this happen . Ryan is accountable to know one and his idealism is a threat to the state. I was convinced courts would sort out this mess.
this is truly tragic.

I believe that this mornings announcement is part of the overall plan to increase pressure on Ryan. This will go to court and probably the less said the better. Perhaps they are leaving the door open for Ryan to reverse his decision whilst at the same time gathering fuel for the case in the courts in case he does not. I do not believe the big shareholders will take this lying down. There is incredible dislike of Ryan and this will spur action. In any case I switched some of my investment to LOGP as I believe they are waiting to see how this plays out here before finally going for Ryan under the ECT. I believe they will win that case. With regards to BEY I think the RNS and what is says about Ryan and his carry on point the way toward a likely future court case. Revenge is a dish best served cold !!!!

What are the BOD playing at? They have communicated absolutely zero on what options are available to us. Have they sought legal advice? What did that advice tell them?

All was lost when the BBC et al were allowed to state the "science was settled". It wasn't it simply morphed into political science instead ie "the consensus."
Shame for holders but expect others to follow as the world follows the diktats of the WEF and IPCC.

Can't you just see the picture, RYAN sitting on his ministerial throne this morning with the biggest smile on his face and offering a fist pump at today's news. He probably couldn't have wished for more even though, at present, trading is only suspended. However the implications of that alone are grim to say the least. This is a man who, on his own, has on one hand engineered the demise of a company and on the other threatened the future economy of his country, purely to satisfy and uphold the beliefs of himself and his followers.

I can't help thinking that he should have been challenged long ago over Barryroe and perhaps a succession of BOD's were complacent in thinking he would 'see the light' and eventually concede. We now know differently and we are still in the dark as to whether any further action is intended or even possible.

We have had an unwelcome and unwanted 'sage' on this thread who has decreed all along that Barryroe will never happen, are we now to concede that he was probably right all along.

Not a peep today from Landsdowne. They came out fighting when ryan refused LU but silent as an ant's fart ever since. Their holders have been very supportive over the years but major "cojones" are essential before entering the lottery that masquerades as "The Courts"....

Talks must be riding rough waters and Larry reluctant to throw good money after bad. No guarantees vis a vis Judicial Review etc. As a poster said earlier them greens and wokes are running the show in Ireland and probably have infiltrated the Courts too. Will be surprised if LG and Furlong allow this to go down without a fight....

sold out for a huge loss last Thursday, having been up on my investment for much of last year and early this. BEY have a legitimate claim and had they money in the bank already the situation would clearly have been different even upon the DECC refusal.
