13/6/2023 09:34 | Over the last 24 hours renewables have provided 6.6% of Irelands electricity needs leading to a net import of 18.23% of electricity, gas and coal provided 70%. Maybe RTE should ask the WEF moron for a comment on this. A recent statement from the moron. While Ryan conceded that the state had “problems,R “Within five years, we will have fibre to every home,” he said. “We will have one of the most advanced, digitally-connected countries in the world, connected to one of the most advanced renewable countries in the world.” | roadster750
13/6/2023 08:49 | He should do, they all should. Real meteorologists/clima Not only is it true we are entering another cold period but the CO2 levels the IPCC claim is all man made really isn't at all.. Facts, figures and science- no conspiracy theory dribble needed at all.. | bad gateway
13/6/2023 08:36 | If I was Ryan and I wilfully and unnecessarily wiped 100 million from the bottom line of some big organisations and individuals, I would expect a great deal of anger, and I would hide. | cephalosaurus

13/6/2023 00:17 | How sustainable and practical is solar energy? Can we truly rely on it or are there other better options? | peakyblinderssss
12/6/2023 19:23 | Fightback ? maybe you could enlist the help of the BOD , they seem to be at a loss at how to run a O & G exploration company , have they other skills which will help the company , dreaming can be good for your health they say. | jotoha2

12/6/2023 10:33 | In the meantime the ageing Electricity Generating Stations in Ireland have approached replacement date for many. The more ancient they become the more prone to unscheduled downtime . The duration of which in these circumstances can be quite extensive. Many of Electricity Generating Stations are on borrowed time. Two or three of these Stations could go offline in quick succession. | salthill
11/6/2023 01:18 | Well this is what he wants, his vision if you like and I guess competition from BEY and their hydrocarbons isn't part of his utopian dream. "One good example of such a project is the North Sea Countries’ Offshore Grid Initiative, a proposal that would link offshore wind farms to a new regional grid, and allow countries to balance variable power supplies across borders. The idea – first advanced in a 2009 memorandum of understanding signed by nine EU member states and Norway – has enormous potential; by 2030, North Sea winds could provide Europe with 10% of its electricity – carbon-free. But if the project is to go forward, it urgently needs a political mandate. The integrated grid can be imagined as a large ring, connecting Norway with the United Kingdom, and then linking across the channel to France, Belgium, and Holland, before moving on to Germany and returning to Scandinavia. Its implementation would allow Europe to introduce a free-trade zone for renewable energy, reducing the need for storage and excess capacity to back up variable power supplies. Not only would the grid pay for itself; once in place, it would reduce the cost of new wind farms by some 30%, by providing them with an existing connection to energy markets....." | bad gateway

10/6/2023 16:23 | The man wants Europe to share windmills in the north sea according to his WEF page and a one world dictatorship to run the planet so their green policies can be enacted... It'll be the killing fields all over again. | bad gateway
10/6/2023 13:50 | That would be an interesting development. Imo it was an excuse given by the Minister not a reason and was done to avoid being sued under the ICSID rules for a politicized decision they intended to make one way or another no matter how well funded BEY was. | bad gateway
10/6/2023 13:33 | ts, BEY could have 6.5 times in hand it would matter not to ryan, he would just come up with some other lame reason for refusal, his first refusal is not legitimate, legal action should have been engaged last year. | roadster750
10/6/2023 12:20 | I wonder.... Seeing as the LU was refused on the basis that the company did not have 3.5 times the estimated cost of the appraisal well in reserve, is it too late to revisit the matter? I know gathering 3.5 times the costs would be a massive challenge but it would not be impossible. Is there provision to apply to the department for further consideration? It would obviously cost to hold so much in reserve, but would hopefully not be required if the appraisal well started producing. | theshenagainagain
10/6/2023 10:37 | Haven't seen any RNSs yet to say major shareholders have reduced their holdings or got what they can get for them since the last update. Market rules say they must declare if they have. Still early in fairness but could be interesting. | paulsavannah |
