40k will not give you 1k a month. That is fiction .You will be lucky to get 4K a year A fact those that retired pre 2016 old age pension Is. £137 a week they are living in poverty And if they struggled to buy their home they can get no other Help fact Those that did not bother to save get their pension made up with other credits to £192 a week plus pay no rent no council tax and also get a free tv licence and dental Owning your home when you retire on the old age pension will put you in poverty .All above is fact if the gov does not keep its 2010 pledge on the pension then it should resign but it did not say that those on the new pension of£179 a week would be covered They are now on £42 a week more than those that retired pre 2016 and only after work 35 years those that retired pre 2016 had to work for 44 years to get the £137

I have a Private Pension with about 40k in the pot. I'm 64 and been advised that the pension would be roughly 1k per annum Without and increase it will take up to I'm 104 just to get what's in the pot.No wonder people take what they can as soon as they can...You get warned about Scams but not warned about being ripped off by the Pension Companies themselves

The state pension increase should be honoured......at all times, people live off it. The pension that needs to be looked at, is the Public Sector Pension! Finish at 58-60 with a 50% of salary, try and buy the same in the private sector. All Public Sector Workers who retire, try to live without your Public Pension.
