Portside - You knew it would be a mess and cost a lot of people who are not as well off as you, a lot of money.

What I don't understand is why you being an intelligent and successful person wanted that. End of subject as far as I'm concerned.

The Pound was heavily overvalued which is why our balance of payments is so bad, I think our trading deficit last quarter was around 33.5 billion. The pound falling in value is a much needed adjustment which should help our export and debt situation.

So Gideon is blaming Brexit for his own failures to achieve any of his financial set targets. Laughable

Thanks Smarty, but you've lost me mate!

What would a sell order at 210p have come into it? It went the other way...or am I both lost and an idiot. Lol.

How can they, in all conscience, adopt a no shorting BARC policy after you placed your order and justify it? Have you queried the situation? My un-honoured stop loss was even richer, it was placed, recognised, held as pending and then cancelled arbitrarily.

It is tough enough to play their games without them bending and changing the rules. I'm almost comparing it to mis-selling of PPI or Libor fixing insofar as if it was brought to wider attention, and more admitted they too were shafted, then no doubt a case could be brought....somewhere. Whistling in the wind? I dunno, but as we know pension and PPI claims are still being met...

Currency traders were also impacted last week I believe. I bet if it was Soros or whoever then they would not have been so cavalier. I've been referred to the Ombudsman...death by a thousands cuts, but what is needed is joint action, not individual gripes, to see any change, if not compensation.

Before the EU vote I sold my long position.
So it was than squared.
I then placed a related order on the (closed) long position to hold it open as a short
My lot cancelled my orders overnight
When I questioned them as to why the next day ( and the £40,000 paper loss)
I was told...
"The order to sell BARC was cancelled because if it had been executed (at 210p), that would have created a short position in BARC...and over night they had adopted a no shorting BARC policy"
So they wiped all my orders, squared off and closed all my positions in BARC.
Only a paper loss...but it doesn't look pretty on my account.
