29/1/2016 00:50 | I take it you're not dealing with an isa account - they are cumbersome, but no tax is charged of course. | mbmiah
29/1/2016 00:46 | Thanks mbmiah. When I sold on Thursday morning the money went into my dealing account straight away then when the new order was satisfied the money went back out straight away on the new deal. As you say i'll attempt to sell in the morning if I get a good price and see what it does. Just wasn't sure what that Settlement Date meant. Hoping Barclays gets to £1.82 - £1.83 early doors. | ckafetz
29/1/2016 00:38 | If you are able to sell i.e. Electronic or via phone then it's fine - it normally takes 2 days to settle the deal and receive the cash in your account. But if you have surplus cash you can keep buying and selling. Speak to your briker | mbmiah
29/1/2016 00:26 | Can anyone answer a couple of questions please. They may be simple so apologies. I bought Barclays shares on Tuesday then sold on Thursday morning for a small profit. I then put an order in straight away after the sale to buy more Barclays shares if the share price dropped which it did so when I got back from work I had a notice to say my order was successful. Q1. Can I just keep buying selling the same share as much as I like on the same day? There is nothing illegal or dodgy in that is there? Q2. The contract note I received after my order was filled confirmed the deal date as 28th Jan but a Settlement Date of 1st Feb. What does this settlement date mean? Can I not sell those shares until this date? I was hoping to sell them tomorrow morning if I can make another small profit. Thanks in advance | ckafetz
