Keifer - The divi for 13/14 was 1p, 1p, 1p, 3.5p so there is no change.

AJ did ok on Bloomberg. Results above expectations but they cannot guarantee the fines have reached the top. FWIW it looks ok to me.

not with all the crooks in Barclays the bank is full of liars and crooks the ceo is a dam liar . why as o one been charged at the bank , no they pay them bonuses . they did what the directors told them to do .

No wonder the dividend is flat, billions being used to cover fines.

The company increased its provision to cover any fallout from a probe into currency market manipulation by £750m to £1.25bn.

Provision for payment protection insurance (PPI) compensation was increased by £200m for the last three months of 2014, the bank said, taking the year's total to £1.1bn.

Barclays Africa applies for Nigerian licence

Johannesburg - Barclays Africa [JSE:BGA] has applied for a licence to operate in Nigeria and is "keen" to take over operations in Egypt and Zimbabwe that still belong to its parent company, its chief executive said on Tuesday.

Nigeria's weaknesses

The country is suffering from its inefficient government and increasing corruption, as illustrated by Nigeria's fall down the World Bank's rankings for this governance indicator (191st in 2013 compared with 179th in 2010).

Highly dependence on oil revenue (90% of exports, 80% of tax revenues)

Very reduced refining capacity, resulting in burdensome imports

Ethnic and religious tensions

Insecurity, corruption constraining the business environment

Unemployment, poverty, inadequate health and education systems

Barclays chief Antony Jenkins is on Today. The bank is the healthiest it has been since the financial crisis, he says. Changing culture at the bank takes a long time, Mr Jenkins adds, but the "vast majority" of his 130,000 bankers "want to do the right thing". He is taking a bonus of £1.1m after the "huge amount of progress" the bank has made. Asked about the topic du jour, Mr Jenkins says he pays all his tax in the UK and as a US green card holder.

am I missing something, but the next divi payout is 3.5p (6.5 total)- the last two years each quart divi was 1p each, making 4p per year - so over a 50% increase.....

still no news on the crooks at the bank and still paying out bonuses holders nothing more ,

well ken flat for holders as we thought the bank is only run for the staff not the owners

In terms of dividends, we declared a cash dividend of 6.5p for 2014 despite the impact of provisions for conduct items. We have a growing confidence in the capital position of the Group and continue to target a 40-50% payout ratio.
