I don't know why the stock has struggled over the last 12 months to break out at 39 cent.I think there has been a lot of short selling going on. But even if the share price breaches 40c I think a lot of people will take profits then, perhaps depressing the share price for a while.Who knows?Anybody see Eurobank SP? Down to 5 cent, poor old Wilbur Ross!

Cantor Fitzgerald have revised their target price for BoI from 43 to 45 cent according to a article in the Irish Independent. Report mentions the pref shares should be paid off by January 2016.http://www.cantorfitzgerald.ie/reports/Cantor%20Daily%2031st%20July%202015.pdfhttp://www.independent.ie/business/irish/bank-of-ireland-tipped-to-repay-debt-early-despite-housing-slowdown-31427653.html

I believe there are a lot of short selling going on, which has not worked out as they hoped!I think it will be a while before we breach 40 cent, but we should be past it be year end hopefully.Once the pref shares are mopped up and Divs start getting paid out then we should see a greater activity.

Got this from an analyst but please DYOR and no advice given.
I See BKIR to release trading statement tomorrow

Permanent TSB (Market Perform, Previous Close €4.551) has agreed terms for the repurchase of €400m 10% Contingent Convertible Notes from the Irish Government. The bank has also set a price range of €3.90 - €4.50 for its €400m equity capital, with the final price to be announced tomorrow. Bank of Ireland (Market Perform, Previous Close €0.345) release an IMS this Wednesday. We believe BOI is no longer a pure Irish recovery play but now an income play, and expect dividends to be reinstated in 2017. AIB (Underperform, Previous Close €0.091) is to release an IMS tomorrow. We expect NIM to continue its positive trajectory and expect rising collateral values to lead to net provision write-backs. However, in our view, the stock is currently miss-priced at 4x FY15 TNAV, compared to its peers at 1x
