Comment in the AGM statement, that Q1 is in line with the prior quarter and had 8% new lending growth.

Bank of America Corp.’s indicator is flashing green for the first time since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, potentially signaling an upside for global equities in the weeks ahead.

“There have been eight contrarian ‘buy signals’ since 2013,” BofA strategists led by Michael Hartnett wrote in a note to clients. “Back-testing shows that in the 12 weeks following buy signals, global equities have risen 8%” and outperformed investment grade bonds, they said.

Half way through the days trading and the Spanish trading is only at 18% of Average daily volume. Brokers are making less money as the share price drops and as Santander can only buy back 25% of daily volume it will get harder and harder for them to meet Buyback targets.

Virgin, HSBC, Metro, FTSE, DOW all turned blue now. So there's no panic. Just profit taking over the past few days.

Brokers will make more commission with the price rising than currently. Time for Santander to start putting Shareholders Dividends to positive use and get buying hard and push that price up and the daily volumes...

Let's hope not. I reckon it's mainly general profit taking from all the banks after the recent recoveries. Then some Buyback hokey pokery.

I'm hoping with the AGM next week that they might want the share price to rise so the CEO doesn't get flack at the meeting.

My average is higher as well. 267 but I won't sell at that price. Looking for a good profit here so they can have mine in the 290 to 300 region...

In the meantime I buy and sell some here and there for trading.

The sharp rise from 220p from Ukarain news. May be MM wants to take it back to 230p to 240p range. I have shares with higher prices.

At some point they will run out of people selling their shares and the Buybacks will have to start buying pressure. At the moment it looks like they are "weighting" the order book on the sell side deliberately to shake people out.

Daily volumes on the Spanish Exchange have been falling day by day all week. So less and less stock becoming available.

As the price gets pushed down there will be more buyers competing for less and less shares available from people willing to panic sell at lower levels and we should start to see the price climb. Buybacks only have 7 weeks left so they will hit pressure as time passes and they start paying more. The last Buyback "eventually" pushed the price to 300 but not in a straight line. They will shake all the way...

Don't let them panic you out cheap. If you get emotional just switch off and come back in 2 weeks... imho

Just the Market Makers "weighting" the order book. Pushing the price down deliberately. Maybe one final push down so the Buyback scheme can finally get started - who knows? Was 266 yesterday morning and nothing has changed. 10p drop is big for no reason while most banks are climbing.

Lloyds
HSBC
Natwest
All Blue.

Barclays slightly down but only 1/3 of Santander. Barcs haven't started their buybacks either. It shows...

Don't trust that % sell too much. Often Limit buys trigger below market ask price and show as a sell.

I won't buy until I see an RNS showing the buybacks have begun. If you hold stock don't sell it as these are worth well over 300.

AGM next week.

Yeah scratching my head as to why this isn't at least above 270 by now. Lloyds already back above 50. FTSE breaching 7500 again...

Santander falling behind again...

MM's have shaken the hell out of this. Time to move on...

Still no announcements of any Share Buybacks even though they finally said they can start last Tuesday. Would be good to know WTF is going on.

In the FTSE 100, banks were in demand amid the prospect faster interest rate rises. HSBC was up 3.5%, Standard Chartered up 2.9%, NatWest up 3.0%, Barclays up 1.4% and Lloyds up 2.3%.

they do realise this is a bank too?

5p down today (SO FAR) as yesterday it actually closed at 264.65 after a pitiful performance.

You would have thought the Bank of England reduced the interest rate the way these Market Makers are ripping people off. Still -20% from recent highs --- now have another 0.25% hike in the UK where they have huge business that will generate even more profits on top of "record" profits. The buyback scheme has begun buying back EUR850M of stock to be cancelled pushing up the share price (in theory!).

and yet shareholders getting shafted as usual.

Fair Value NAV = 320pps to 350pps... so hold your stock and don't give it away cheap to these MM's

Ukraine & Russia made significant progress on a tentative 15-point peace plan including ceasefire & Russian withdrawal if Kyiv declares neutrality & accepts limits on its armed forces

They are not there yet but it seems much more positive and likely won't take long to agree on terms...

Looking strong since the BUYBACK scheme started again.

If the FED raise interest rates later (6pm) and then if the BoE raise interest rates tomorrow (lunchtime)... I reckon Santander will be back in to the 180's and on it's way back above 300 with good news from Ukraine...
