04/1/2017 04:34 | "As a phenomenon bitcoin has all the attributes of a pyramid scheme, requiring a constant influx of converts to push up the price, based on the promise of its use by future converts. So the ultimate value for bitcoin will be the same as all pyramid schemes: zero." keep those articles coming.... just means more upside. silly comment though - that describes any stock that doesn't pay dividends. | mcbeanburger
04/1/2017 02:04 | going to old highs imo 1180 then a drop.... making a nice c&h get long and put your orders short of 1180 imo | mcbeanburger
03/1/2017 23:11 | SPAD - yes, seems to be just weekly price and too difficult to extract. Thought daily prices for bitcoin would be easy. Now $1033. I wonder if it's not having a decent pullback because everyone agrees it's going to at least $10,000 long term and it still has such a long way to go. It's not normal is it, but of course we are not in normal times. Anyone doubting this can look at this document on here for $15, Sci Fi. | alexx
02/1/2017 18:38 | alexx have you looked at coinmarketcap.com ? | spadman
01/1/2017 19:00 | +$100 in a week How annoying, when it was going through 976 a few hours ago I thought to myself "this is taking off again". Couldn't open a bet of course as the betting company is shut. Still, even with half my bet still open and my actual bitcoins still made a lot. The numbers with the whole bet open before were a bit too big for me. McB - with a likely price within a year or two of $10 or $20k no need to worry about details. Are there any (daily?) history prices for bitcoins available on the internet. Not just a chart. Perhaps even paid for. | alexx

31/12/2016 00:33 | I use coinigy for charting. best I've seen. the bulls will like rational investors projected price of 5k a coin. first 25nmin edit: last minutes interesting remark about china devaluation in advance of trump inauguration, which could result in bitcoin support. | mcbeanburger

29/12/2016 17:51 | Just closed half my bitcoin spread bets, not sure I did the right thing. | alexx
29/12/2016 14:02 | At the moment I think the counter-party risk is very small but I'm sure it will increase with time. So at some stage I will close and add to my genuine bitcoins. When I opened my bets I put down about 40% of the contract value, this means that you can ride out up to a 40% loss from where you started. I thought a 40% loss was very unlikely but obviously a possibility. | alexx
29/12/2016 11:51 | Yes,I agree with you both alexx, there is no reason to have them with a website and I like the paper wallet idea. I don't like spreadbetting because of the counter-party risk and the margin calls crystallising losses. Thankfully they are about to see some sort of regulation soon. Gold-bugs always complain about naked paper shorting distorting the market. As far as I understand it there is currently little activity like that in Bitcoin so I like the look of it from here. | chinahere
29/12/2016 09:20 | Thanks SPADman very helpful. | chinahere
