McBean Bitcoin isnt a Company, it doesnt have a CEO, no dividends, no profit, no loss. It's the first time people can own a slice of "the technology" ad infinitum, like Radio waves, the internet or the wheel, Bitcoin isn't going away.

every dog has it's day. what's btc's lifespan? have to remember its a new tech, like trains, like radio, like internet etc.

trains are still going would hold your investment from 1870? btc will have its run and let's enjoy while it lasts. no more.

McB If there is any class of investment you would want to have been perma long in over the lifetime of that class, in this case 2009... It would be bitcoin. Nothing else comes even close. How silly r u?

alexx - the two lines are the same length and pitch - if harmonics are in play then the price projection is at the end of the second line. so far you'd have to say it's working. for me I still like some neck line retracement and have sold for the moment. if you can't see that most charts move in a sine wave pattern then charts aren't for you.

spad - silly permie long.

random - I got that from The Rational Investor, he has some interesting ideas.

Trading plan issued :-) ... thanks for the charting McB, it helped me form the plan.

(Not that they will necessarily listen ... I issued a sell just above $1100 and they said "I want to hold on forever" ;-) .. They don't know any TA ... but they do know the mechanics of trading.

Agreed McB, with the spike dt in play if it sails through 1086.

XMR is a bit weaker, but I think it has more upside potential. Steadily amassing them using mining ... worth about £10 per XMR. If it follows BTC it will rise to the hundreds. Mining XMR and converting to BTC is the most cost effective way of mining BTC. This method also works with ETH. XMR hashing (cryptonight) is designed to be hard for asics.

The P/E of a well designed rig is under 1, but what is it's useful life? That's the big question when scaling up mining rigs.

I am wondering about issuing a take profit signal to my trader friend who holds quite a few BTC. The thing is if it fails to traverse 1086 the chart becomes very bearish. A little sell order just below seems prudent. Of course if the spike high is traversed, this sell becomes rather conservative ;-)

It sort of reminds me of the pictures "showing" alien structures on the moon, you know... where someone has drawn around the area of the buildings so you can see them. ;)

How anyone is going to guess future price moves based on that is beyond me - I can really see the need for putting those labels "left shoulder", "head", "right shoulder" on there. Without them no one could possibly know what sort of pattern they were meant to be looking for.

Chinese exchanges are dead - no point watching for market symmetry.

hot money has moved off the Chinese exchanges and moved to US dollar with leverage.

1086 is the target if harmonics are at play.

the problem is that the ledger grows with the number of transactions. how can transactions be pruned dramatically, without centralising the ledger (i.e. storing wallet balances)? Maybe there is some proof of work method of doing this ... riches await anyone who can pull it off.

i think any coin that can incrementally increase its block size won't have this issue.

or any coin that release more blocks per min then bitcoin probably won't have the same issue.

yeah mc b, ledger bloat is a huge problem ... it essentially prevents btc (and similar coins) from becoming really big.

ripple uses a different system, not sure if it suffers the same bloating issues.

Just a Heads up (Tails you lose) for you Geek Sheep

ANY position in Bitcoin is a pure gamble long or short.
There is nothing to suggest Bitcoin has anything to do with financial assets.
At best it is a ponzi scheme where the originators started with the bulk of the supply. Speculation on Bitcoin will be unpardonably profitless. Bitcoin is uninvestible.

The Irony is that the company PLUS500 was the first purveyor of trading in the UK of BitCoin. (Albeit as CFDs). Now IG are in on the game in a BIG way.
Problem is that ALL UK trading in Bitcoin is bucket, no betting shops taking punters money by CFD. NO ONE is taking proprietary positions in Bitcoin. They are NOT hedging the risk. YOU WILL LOSE. THEY NEED YOU TO LOSE.

Almost ALL 'physical' bitcoin trading is done in China, as much as 99% of all volume by some estimates.

China announced it had begun investigating bitcoin exchanges in Beijing and Shanghai on suspicion of market manipulation, money laundering, unauthorized financing, and other issues. Regulation there prohibits financial firms from BTC.

etoro's Mati Greedspam say that bitcoin volumes are primarily coming from UK, (closely followed by DEM=X)
