DOW FUTURES now down 1200 points. A bloodbath is on the way. In this market if they disappoint they can easily now be down 60-70%. Announce some sort of funding even with the family office and we will be 10% up!

The fact that they have left it so late is worrying and makes me think that 70-30 we are in trouble. It will be rather a miracle if they announce funding tomorrow - a day I expect Dow to be down 2000 points and currently futures indicate that FTSE will open down 400 points. One of the cardinal rules in the market is that you donot expose any project to volatility and stretch any financing into a deadline. Again the fact that they have left it this late is very worrisome but hoping for the MIRACLE AT &!

You need to split your oil portfolio into sections :

A/ Need funding now/shortly - screwed - panic mode.

B/ High debt levels - screwed - panic mode.

C/ Generating loads of cash with no/minimal debt - ok - grin and bear it - wait for new OPEC+deal news.

D/ Exploration with no debt and no funding needs - ok - grin and bear it - wait for new OPEC+deal news.

BPC will after todays news......either be CAT A or CAT D - time will tell.

I have to stick at least until 7AM tomorrow morning to my view that the family office is the funder of last resort although the change in the financial market fundamentals and the fact that all trades are now risk-off (hence gold price appreciation) does imply that they might back-off and take their small loss.

US oil majors need easy to extract, high quality light oil. The sort you can sell off the back of a boat. The bigger the find the more economical. If BPC find a big field, it will get fast tracked. Water depths are shallow and costs will be low for FPSO for 31API.
