30/7/2019 08:46 | dipla - You could be right and that is always the risk here with BPC or any AIM share. Personally, i think they are just over half way through the farm out window set by advisors and i am not expected news for 1-2 months at least. News just before the AGM in September? | linton78
30/7/2019 08:43 | 9% up.. 1.9p to buy | linton78
30/7/2019 08:42 | i think the dreams of drilling here are over...still no partner.......cash in on break even and put the money else where | dipla
30/7/2019 07:52 | Interesting article that gives the history of activity next door to BPC licensees. Brief mention of read across to Florida / Bahamas plate. Cupet are pushing their deep water frontier plays: | linton78
26/7/2019 20:17 | Thinking about it more, it's completely bizarre to have an oil and gas fund in the Bahamas. What's the USP? | whoppy
26/7/2019 16:39 | Whitebat - To me, the timing is strange, and if ever a fund wanted to get off to a flying start with oil and gas projects, then why not with a fund in the country of origin that are presumably about to embark on an oil and gas industry and will realise huge growth. Oban would provide a sound investment with a refinery and BPC with the speculation of exploration and huge oil finds, would only need to take a few 10's of million BPC shares at today's price to potentially get massive returns. | whoppy
26/7/2019 16:19 | Whoopy - "however if the Bahamas begin their own exploration and production of oil then the fund would obviously attract a lot of money from island investors, and deep pockets from international investors. The fund would have to offer something unique to be successful" Are you saying this fund has been set up specifically to buy BPC shares? | whitebat
26/7/2019 14:21 | Thanks for the info whoppy,looks positive fingers crossed. | martyn9
26/7/2019 14:18 | Martyn, Oban are still negotiating with the Government so must still be wanting it to happen. | whoppy
26/7/2019 14:13 | Whoppy, for some reason i was under the impression the oban refinery was totally fictitious?? false news brigade posts i guess. | martyn9
26/7/2019 13:48 | $5BN Oban refinery will present an opportunity aswell. Looks like the Bahammas are planning to cover the upstream and downstream side of the oil and gas business. They're planning to become the most important hub in the Caribbean. There's going to be a lot of competition from the other Caribbean islands and they don't want to lose out. When a major enters, then no doubt will see a lot of investment. | whoppy
26/7/2019 13:36 | jrr1 - There is the Buckeye hub in Freeport and of course hopefully BPC will be drilling appraisal wells on fold B... :-) | linton78
26/7/2019 12:09 | Not many investors in Bahamas would be interested in this fund, however if the Bahamas begin their own exploration and production of oil then the fund would obviously attract a lot of money from island investors, and deep pockets from international investors. The fund would have to offer something unique to be successful. imho | whoppy
26/7/2019 11:55 | strange though to offer a fund for investment in "the area of infrastructure, distribution and production of oil and gas" in a place where the is none? | jrr1
26/7/2019 11:32 | jrri, I don't suppose we are in it !! | stewart4990
26/7/2019 11:22 | A Bahamian fund administrator has continued its “strong year” of sponsoring BISX listings by adding another to the exchange’s roster. #The Winterbotham Trust Company also acts as administrator for World Oil System Fund, which has completed the listing process and been listed on the Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX). #Ivan Hooper, chief executive of The Winterbotham Trust Company, said: “2019 has been a strong year in the sponsoring of fund listings with BISX. We are pleased to continue sponsoring the listing of funds this time with the listing of World Oil System Fund, and hope to continue this throughout the remainder of the year. #“World Oil System Fund invests in the area of infrastructure, distribution and production of oil and gas. As the largest fund administrator by number of funds in The Bahamas, listing has become a key component of our offering. Listing with BISX is a key enhancer to this offering and our ability to attract funds to The Bahamas.” #The World Oil System Fund is an open-ended mutual fund with subscriptions and redemptions carried out by the administrator.
