Collaboration to focus on U.S. chip manufacturing and joint research and development for advanced chip technologies

Under the strategic agreement, the companies will align technology roadmaps and collaborate on long-term strategies for increasing U.S. semiconductor innovation and manufacturing, with the joint goal of advancing the ecosystem for domestic fabrication and packaging of secure chips and solutions for use in aerospace and defense systems. |
BAE Systems’ fourth Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV) prototype is being showcased at Eurosatory this week. Configured with a common top plate, also known as the External Mission Equipment Package (ExMEP), the prototype showcases the vehicle’s ability to integrate capabilities and equipment packages internationally.
This AMPV prototype features Oshkosh Defense’s Medium Caliber Weapon System (MCWS), a 30mm weapon system with planned fielding to the U.S. Army’s Stryker Brigade Combat Teams. The vehicle’s ExMEP can adapt to more than 30 different turret systems and builds on the vehicle’s modularity. This creates a seamless path for international customers to address various mission needs with the AMPV platform. |

 Their Majesties The King and The Queen officially opened ‘The Winston Churchill Centre for Education and Learning’ at the site of the British Normandy Memorial on 6 June 2024, the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The unveiling of a plaque took place at 11:30 BST following the national commemoration.
This historic moment will also be attended by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Leader of the Opposition Sir Keir Starmer, Chair of the Normandy Memorial Trust, General Lord Richard Dannatt and Chair of BAE Systems, Cressida Hogg, among other VIPs and dignitaries. The Winston Churchill Centre has been funded through a donation of £600,000 from the Trust’s principal sponsor, BAE Systems.
The Ministry of Defence has also contributed to the construction of the Centre, alongside the Normandy Region, the Department of Calvados and the Seulles Terre et Mer Community of Communes. The new building houses two educational exhibition galleries telling the stories of those who fought on D-Day and in the Battle of Normandy, curated by The Royal British Legion. |

BAE Systems has been selected to build the Ocean Color Instrument (OCX) for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Geostationary Extended Observations (GeoXO) satellite constellation. With the selection, BAE Systems is now contracted to build all three hyperspectral instruments for the mission, including OCX, the GeoXO Sounder (GXS), and the Atmospheric Composition Instrument (ACX). Residents and scientists across North America now have access to enhanced air quality data in their area following the launch of a publicly available data platform for the BAE Systems Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) instrument.
