Another update today to keep the pot boiling.That blog (referenced above)isn't unequivocally bullish imo and finishes by drawing attention to the fact that lithium mining in China ploughs 98% of the polluted excavated product back into the ground.Lithium mining is complicated.Anyway,an extract below."The move to search for new sources of lithium comes as Tesla breaks ground on its new "gigafactory" factory in Nevada, which is designed to make it easier to mainstream EVs by ratcheting down the already hefty costs of lithium ion batteries through mass production.The EV company has agreed to buy up minimum tonnages of lithium from Pure Energy and Bacanora Minerals, conditional on whether they are able to meet grade, tonnage, and most importantly, Tesla's price range.Industry insiders believe Tesla is playing cat and mouse with Albemarle Corporation, as well as Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile (ADR), and FMC Corp., all of which combined sell 90 percent of the world's lithium."

On the front page of today's FT under "datawatch" is a graph of the lithium price.The caption reads,"Commodities prices are generally falling but lithium prices tripled in the past year,driven by demand for batteries used in electric cars and devices.Carmaker Tesla contributes to demand as it builds the largest battery plant".Bit peculiar then that the Bacanora share price languishes some 25% off its highs and well lower than a year ago.Doesn't Bacanora have something to do with lithium and connections with Tesla.Hey ho.

Underlying demand for Lithium is off the scale after the Model 3 launch, the success will see a further increase of vehicles coming to the market for other manufacturers.

No real need to see Bacanora wait until 2018 I expect Tesla will be in contact for more supply along with many others.

Exciting times I still think one of the big boys will pick this up pre production at a large premium to today's share price

I thought we had a conditional agreement to supply tesla in the future if Panasonic and tesla need more that will push up lithium prices

It is interesting that deliveries of the Tesla 3 are scheduled for late 2017 whereas BCN's last RNS mentioned that plant commissioning is due to take place a year later in Q4 2018. Who will be supplying the lithium to bridge the gap?
