I was expecting this to jump at least 10p on opening. What did it do ? It fell a few pence.Suits me, back in under 442. Now it seems to be getting some traction. I'm hoping to be in and out here with some small trades over the next few weeks if my expectation of a rerate back to 550 proves correct.

Looks to be OK, revenue up, must presume margins maintained so profits increased.Big 1M buy just after close yesterday. What's that about ?Looks to me like we should be headed back towards 550.

Well, that's just stating the bleeding' obvious.With a business like BME and the way they run it it's all about like-for-like and in depth. Separating out the new stores from existing, UK from France, season with season.To be fair, the CEO did provide a lot of information at the last presentation.

Good article in IC today, but gives a lot of concerns re like for like figures which they say need to be the focus in next week’s announcement

We seem to be bottoming out, though 440 level doesn't appear to be historically significant.Shouldn't be long until we get a trading statement.

The SHOE ZONE profit warning did mention freight costs from China, but it also mentioned weak sales of Spring/Summer lines April to June due to unseasonal weather, and about a weak ago it mentioned a cyber incident. So a heap of woes!

a vast amount of product comes from china (sadly) from screws to toys, all the seasonal stuff would as well

Fozzyb , I think you are right , the average 40ft shipping container transport cost was $1474 a year ago ,but $5318 now. That is almost a quadrupling .Even worse , Shanghai to Rotterdam , the nearest published port , went up almost six-fold.

I don't know how much stock comes from China , but there must be a serious hit on the bulky low value items.

Freight costs high. Expect some comments towards this in next financial statement and this may be hurting the sentiment right now

If this is a shakeout it seems to be working as the share price continues to fall. This feels a bit like GLEN earlier in the year. It fell and fell for a while then turned tail and moved up for 100 points.I'm hoping this will do the same.

But look at the way this is falling in price. Don't understand why.
The estate is growing. The Wilko customers must be shopping somewhere. Business
growing in region of 10%+ in a normal year.
That's just the bare bone highlights. There is a bargain to be had post ex div.
