Let me know if my interpretation of today's AGM / EGM announcement is wrong..

Agenda point 1: ability to raise cash by issuing new shares to institutions 'overnight' without giving you and me a chance to join in the offer - increased from 5 to 10% of number of currently issued shares

Agenda point 2: as point 1 but for the more specific purpose of acquisition of another business(es)

That word "deferral" is rather concerning ; so he could take the other half next month and it would be deferred....

Cosy little Russo-Schmidt options award.I note the reason stated is DEFERRAL and not forgoing half their annual bonus - and presumably for one year only. In the case of Russo those options are currently worth around £800,000. This has an unpleasant aroma.

I went into my local today and lots of summer gardening, outdoorsy stuff. I can imagine it's going to take a hit with the mild weather and this must be factored in now with the ridiculous drop

I have to believe we must be near the bottom. The way the CEO talks they run a very tight ship. So I would expect if they hit a setback like poor weather they already have a contingency plan in place to minimise and mitigate it. Discounting springs to mind, as I don't imagine they will want to hold unseasonal stock.I will watch with interest, and if one of my other investments bears fruit I may well make an investment here. But I want to see this make a definite bottom first.

IC is positive about B&M rating a buy at 501p FWIW. They suggest that the new stores reach maturity faster than other retailers and that the PE of 14 was undervaluing the company.
Mind you they said BUY in Nov and it has dropped 60p since then....

This June has been more like March, low temperatures that have kept falling and I suspect that this is the issue. B&M has those large isles which turnover seasonal events, sales, Easter, summer, school and Christmas

PE is still 13 despite the fall...M&S on a PE of 10. Does this deserve a premium rating when profits are not growing?

The weather has been poor at the start of this spring, so maybe not enough sales of gardening equipment and other outdoorsy items. We are in June now, and normally would B&M have sold quite a bit of their garden stock already? Anyone work in retail here ?

Don't understand why this has dropped. In the presentation there was talk of further growth. If there was no forecast is that because these were prelims not the final accounts ?Or is the drop because the total dividend is lower?

Looks like the conference went well, larger ii buys now coming in. Back up to where we started the day I think. Why wouldn’t we be blue today? Sales, profit and cash up….

Growth every year for the next 3 years. What’s not to like?

a short term trade could be if you looked at swing trade, you could say if this reaches 500p would be worth a punt back up to 550p. although there is no guarantee this will touch 500p soon or again.
