LONDON (Dow Jones)--EKF Diagnostics Holdings PLC (EKF.LN), said Tuesday that it has now received notification from the U.S Food and Drug Administration that the application for CLIA waived status in relation to the Stanbio HemoPoint
H2 Hemoglobin Measurement System has been accepted, having modified the name to the Alere HemoPoint H2 Hemoglobin Measurement System.

MAIN FACTS:

-This will allow Alere Inc., the exclusive distributor of EKF's HemoPoint
H2
product, to begin sales into the U.S. market.

-EKF has also received a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in relation to patent rights for the cuvettes that are used with the HemoPoint H2 product. It is expected that a Grant of Patent Rights will be issued shortly following the payment of due fees.

-Shares at 0900 GMT up 1 pence, or 3.2%, at 24 pence, valuing the company at
GBP58.41 million.

I didn't wait for the Alere offer. When it became fait accompli, I sold the rest and caught a ride up in FGP, you can trade it regularly.

I'm not much into gambling on the penny stocks any more. Last one I had was NIS, that turned out ok, but I've lost more often than not on the penny stocks. Get it right and it's a shure fire way to riches, but a bit scary putting large chunks of money on such risks I think.

It's almost like a conspiracy. First sell out at a cheap price and cheat the shareholders. Then complete and announce deals that would have pushed the share price to figures way above 470. Fishy and smelly methinks.

Have a look at QfI...there MSAR product is a new substitute for oil.Thwy will be signing commercial contracts at the end of this year and many in 2012.They announced results yesterday.

The share price is currentky about 6p...in 12 months i expect this to be about 50p plus.

My position is that I have made about £4k + my intial stake.

I am taking £1k to fritter away on frivolities / trinkets and thinking of splitting the rest, probably equally, into

Well they got to 75% a lot quicker than most thought, look at the positives though the price you all got was a lot higher than it was pre the offer and things are going to be shakey for a long while yet on the markets.

Anyone looking at small cap UK medicals might want to take a look at Mediwatch MDW, sales of £10m+ marginally profitable, expanding productline and markets, but with a market cap of just £3.7m. They have struck deals with CR Bard, Alere, GE healthcare and have a US office and sales team, as well as approximately 80 international distributors, now just waiting for some of the new products to start to gain traction in the different markets.

It is not a quick investment it's one for the next couple of years minimum, but from this lowly valuation there could be a decent potential return.
