DAVID EVANS APPOINTED AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Avon Rubber p.l.c. is pleased to announce the appointment of David Evans as a
Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 June 2007.

David, an Electrical Engineer, spent several years in the Navy before moving
into the commercial business world. He spent 17 years with GEC-Marconi where he
held a number of senior appointments before joining Chemring Group plc in 1987.

David is now a Non-Executive Director of Chemring Group plc, having previously
been their Chief Executive during 6 years of significant growth. He is also a
Non-Executive Director of Whatman PLC. David is a Companion of the Chartered
Institute of Management and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the
Defence Manufacturers' Association for the last 9 years.

Commenting upon the appointment, Chairman, Sir Richard Needham said:

"David brings a wealth of experience from the defence and related industries and
of leading a company through a period of substantial growth. I believe his
background and experience will be a great benefit to Avon's growth prospects."

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules it is
confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to
David Evans.
