Down 20% as couldnt have timed it worse than coming in 2 weeks ago. Time to get rid? Or is this going to make a comeback? Yesterdays news wasnt good, im hoping its an overreaction to it ?

very likely now. for one thing they will be taking all the stops out from those that bought in the 3000 - 3200 yesterday. Concerning that there wasn't the usual bounce back after these kind of drops.

Regardless of this blip which often happens to any company, AVON is a must to have in any portfolio. I think within weeks the share price will recover and I agree this is far too overdone. It is also a strong hold for the medium to long term.

Ask yourself this extremely simple question:

Was the news worth a 20% drop?

If the share price was overvalued based on projected earnings forecasts: yes.

Phil Oakley recently commented on IC Alpha podcast, that he was concerned that organic growth had slowed, and that further growth was likely to be acquisitive.

Didn't mention profit warning. They come in threes...

The rest of the update looks positive. It's a delay not a cancellation. Always been expensive. One for the long term this will look cheap by next Summer. Famous last words.....

The trouble is, as I've said before, it has been trading at a pretty heady PER for a manufacturing company (around 50x) which is pricing in a lot of growth, so if part of that growth is deferred or lost, you would be paying for nothing. It was bound to fall.

As others have noted, the price movement between the beginning of December and today is "interesting". One might have though it would attract the attention of the FCA, but I won't hold my breath.
