25/8/2005 11:50 | Should get an R.N.S. for both sides of yesterday's big trades. Suspect that the seller was Flemings, which would be good news as this has been hanging over the market for some time. But the really interesting news will be the identity of the buyer! Suppose it was Richard Murray - after all he took a similarly punchy approach once before - that would soon get the feathers flying. Add in a bullish A.G.M. update on 8th September and soon you could see a push through the recent 123p high!!!! | mesquida
25/8/2005 11:12 | Nice move up to a pound today - large trades yesterday, AGM not far off. CR | cockneyrebel
24/8/2005 14:00 | some big trades going through - Freddy selling? | teapreacher
07/8/2005 11:00 | looked like a 110K cross trade I thought - hope you're right tho! CR | cockneyrebel
07/8/2005 09:11 | Interesting trades on Friday - looks as though somebody might have got wind of a positive trading update coming 8th September. Should see the 120p high broken soon. | mesquida
22/7/2005 08:14 | Due a rise soon aren't we? Single digit PE, director buying and probably ahead. AGM in a month, but I expect to see a rise well in advance myself CR | cockneyrebel
05/7/2005 10:59 | True CR but Spreadbetting saved several people massive amounts of CGT on SEG. If upside is 50 - 100% in 12 months then spreabetting would save me CGT at 40% on a good slug of money. Of course you have to pay to roll a position etc | chef
05/7/2005 10:50 | bit too airey for a spread account imo Chef - hold them longer term and you get taper relief on the CGT so not a lot to gain from spread-betting them longer term imo. Also spreadbet accounts take the pee if you want to sell into anything other than strength imo. CR | cockneyrebel
05/7/2005 09:30 | I have these very firmly in my long term portfolio. The main question for me is should I but them in a spread account as my holding would save alot of CGT if held via a spread | chef
05/7/2005 09:25 | The chairman of Citywire tip Avesco added his support to the company yesterday with a purchase of shares after a fundraising last week weakened its share price. * Ian Martin snapped up 25,000 shares at 100p each, spending £25,000 in the process. Martin's purchase boosts his stake in the £16.5 million company (ASO) to 400,000 shares or 2.45%. Investors followed suit and Avesco added 1p to 100p yesterday. Last week the corporate presentation specialist placed 2.8 million shares at 90p each, raising £2.4 million after expenses to help fund its capital investment programme. It reckons there is a sustained shift towards high definition televisual equipment and it must invest to keep up with the demands of customers. It is spending £12 million over the next three years. Avesco beat forecasts with its full year profits, announced last week, and gave investors the added bonus of a maiden final dividend, prompting house broker KBC Peel Hunt to raise its profit forecasts by 10%. | sharemad
04/7/2005 21:52 | Yes - nice to see the buy, but why on earth did he not buy on the placing at 90p which took place on the same day. Clearly he would have known it was coming - how odd!! | mesquida
04/7/2005 09:58 | 25K director buy :-) CR | cockneyrebel
01/7/2005 15:56 | Today muppy-licious award goes to Fraddy! lol Believe in your own resarch and feeling for a stock imo - don't listen to the creeping Gandolfs of this world. CR | cockneyrebel
01/7/2005 10:53 | ASO get a buy rec in IC today too. CR | cockneyrebel
01/7/2005 10:44 | I think the placing could put a bottom on this and as a result people will be more prepared to buy IMO. I think the uncertainty around the stock should disappear now and there does seem to be a positive strategy planned. The statement does seem upbeat this morning and the rating is low. There were obviously people prepared to pay 90p for this and I reckon they have scooped a bargain. Shares Mag yesterday had a small article highlighting the growth prospects for HDTV and I think ASO are getting ready to exploit this market. | doubleorquits
01/7/2005 10:13 | Well Frauddy disappears when it's moving up - no surprise. The IC sees the value at least CR | cockneyrebel
01/7/2005 09:08 | Tipped in IC today as a buy. Key points: Bull points : Low rating Growth in HD TV Expansion in US/Germany Bear points : High debt Damaged by economic slowdown Overall: KBC raised pretax profits by 21% for next year with EPS 9.5p. Just a PE of 10 times current earnings is too low for a company with such decent growth prospects. | swag2
01/7/2005 08:52 | there was the weakness. They new of the placing BUT this is all very positive | chef
01/7/2005 08:33 | well the share placing and statement that goes with it seems alot more positive than when tehy released results. | arsey
29/6/2005 09:58 | my guess is there's a reason for the share price weakness - of course ordinary shareholders will be the last to know if thats true! | ydderf
28/6/2005 22:51 | Cr, Dioj and DoQ sorry to be offtopic but i think you guys hold WDNY whats your thoughts on this stock so far? | invisage
28/6/2005 17:09 | true - the joy of holding small caps - works in the reverse tho when things are looking good imo. CR | cockneyrebel
28/6/2005 16:28 | It is cheap going forward but as with many small caps the mm's are dropping them on every sell and then bouncing and widening the spread on any buying essentially keeping the stocks down by choking buying and encouraging stop loss selling | chef
28/6/2005 16:24 | yeah, it's cheap imo - reckon it could get tipped in Shares or IC myself. CR | cockneyrebel |
