05/4/2005 10:36 | Frauddy, you're sounding like a muppet cfd trader - thought you were cearing off for a year and then going to return? I ignore any blips and flips as I'm a longer term investor in ASO - I'm sure you're glad you followed me in Frauddy. I'm now approaching a one bagger in 3 months but am as confident in these as I have ever been - in fact have been adding. 20K buys today, 20K sells - and we are up 10 - tells me someone is buying big in the background - now Frauddy, don't you talk stocks down when you are buying? :-) CR | cockneyrebel
05/4/2005 09:02 | spikey though.......sellers will soon predominate as soon as the momentum is perceived to have flattened - by 10 am i should think...... | ydderf
05/4/2005 08:45 | nice little rise in a week | volvo
05/4/2005 08:14 | Flying - still a way to £2 but it will get there imo - just look what they have done in H2 CR | cockneyrebel
30/3/2005 10:32 | Say what you mean and mean what you say Frauddy. CR | cockneyrebel
30/3/2005 09:38 | i'm an investor wall footrot, so i expect it to be 200p eventually, but who knows or cares when - as long as its within the next 18 months | ydderf
30/3/2005 09:06 | but you are of the mind that it will reach 124, aren't you ydderf? :-) | wal footrot
30/3/2005 09:05 | don't chase it, reversals are mandatory for this loosely held tiddler...it will be 104 again before 124 imho...... | ydderf
29/3/2005 10:15 | looking for 3k more here but been on phone for 10 minutes to broker! | tonyx
29/3/2005 08:19 | In with a 1.50 target.Agree if the company get things right it is a doubler.Steady rise to June. | volvo
29/3/2005 08:11 | the secret dealing in the press - still a steal at this price imo If these can do 3m pre-tax next year they will double imo. That's an 'if' but seems achievable on H2 results estimate imo. CR | cockneyrebel
29/3/2005 08:02 | Put an order in pre market. No chance. Wonder what the go is? | wal footrot
28/3/2005 16:26 | Yes - thanks badday. As I've said before - 150p written all over these come the results. "Although the group's overall performance in the key trading month of March will not be finalised until the close of the financial year, we expect to report full year figures comfortably ahead of market expectation." That's comfortably ahead of the revised up forecasts which are greatly revised up from 3p to 4.2p eps for this year (40% rise). Also ASO made a small pre-tax loss in H1 so if they are going to beat the £1m pre-tax profit forecast for the year they look set to do in excess of £1.2m pe-tax in H2 - that's a run rate of £2.5m pre-tax anualised - market cap £15.5m ! What are they going to end up doing next year? A fair bit more than the current £1.8m forecast imo, more like £3m imo. CR | cockneyrebel
28/3/2005 13:18 | CR, they've not been missed by the AAA rated shrewdies: One top performing fund manager who has been snapping up Avesco's shares on the quiet recently is AAA-rated Dan Nickols of Old Mutual. Nickols bought 450,000 shares for his UK Select Smaller Companies fund in late December and has been adding steadily since. His last purchase was in mid-March and took the fund's holding to 525,000 shares or 3.22% of the £16 million company. Nickols is in excellent company. Legendary former fund manager William Littlewood, who used to run Jupiter's flagship Income fund, also bought 170,000 shares in late December. According to Citywire's sources, company turnaround specialist Clive Richards, former group finance director of investment bank NM Rothschild, has a small personal stake too. | badday
23/3/2005 17:17 | I got some today, wanted 20000 but only managed 5000 online, didnt try for more as i wasnt too keen on the 5p spread, but still looks very good for a small profit, as it should take a jump soon. | goldennugget1
23/3/2005 14:44 | I think the sleepers will miss it - one baggers seem unpopular today. CR | cockneyrebel
23/3/2005 10:03 | Sorry D, didn't mean net cash, I just meant cash available. Wasn't sure that everyone picked up on the property sale in the notes. Think we should have the recent trading statement somewhere on this thread too: RNS Number:5479J Avesco PLC 10 March 2005 For Immediate Release 10 March 2005 Avesco plc Trading Update for the year to 31 March 2005 Avesco plc ("Avesco"), the provider of services to the corporate presentation, entertainment and broadcast markets, announces a Trading Update for the current year to 31 March 2005. Ian Martin, Chairman, commented; "I am pleased to report that the Avesco Group has continued to make progress since the first half of the year. The US activities performed strongly in the second half and, despite our caution about the outlook for the UK market at the interim stage, our operations in the UK have performed very well in the closing months while there has been a generally good performance across the rest of Europe. "Overall, virtually all our businesses have achieved growth rates ahead of expectations and as a result both our revenue and profit figures are ahead of the same period last year and considerably better than our expectations at the interim stage. Although the group's overall performance in the key trading month of March will not be finalised until the close of the financial year, we expect to report full year figures comfortably ahead of market expectation." ------------------ Looks like this will be another missed punter opportunity! CR | cockneyrebel
20/3/2005 18:21 | Are you sure about the net cash position, CR? At the interims, there was net debt of £7.9m. But I may well have missed something. | diogenesj
20/3/2005 15:20 | Even if the EPS is "only" upgraded to 8p or 9p a PE of 11.5 or less still makes these look relatively cheap in the sector in which they operate. A PE of 15 implies upside of 35% and that is before any major upgrades after the results. On a forward PE of 13 using the old figures I see limited downside. Hopefully the upgrades will be forthcoming and place the stock on an share price near to £2 in a twelve month period. | doubleorquits
20/3/2005 14:47 | The beauty of this stock is the lack of comment on ADVFN - very few awake to it even after the recent trading statement. 150p by the end of June imo. CR | cockneyrebel
