AA29 - The very point I have been making, for some time now. Most companies are valued on future expectations, some shares prices get ahead of themselves, of course, in AVN's case, the share price is suggesting the trend is further south, further suggesting the market refuses believe the Williams hype. The trick is spotting the potential ahead of the general market, equally important is recognising when that potential is just not being realised. Of course the problem is, most PI's don't data-mine for more than 6 - 12 months, had they done so they would have spotted what you and I have.

A brief tribute to the guru that brought you Avanti, michaelmouses bull call for 2015/6.

Avanti, forgot how many times he has topped up only for it to fall further south, same with Aero and Trakm8

Its not a quote from the guru michaelmouse, it does show how blind he is to Avanti spin.

An example of Avanti's forecasting track record

'Our five year business plan is well poised to deliver exceptional returns to investors' David Williams June 2011 (!!) Annual Report

That incidentally was the first document I looked at for a quote. The exceptional returns achieved are minus 70%.

Could this be why michealmouse is so vengeful against all Tom Winni's bull calls. Did he get sucked in and later ignored Tom Winni's sell order because the Avanti had failed on its promises and 9 years later and its still failing.

Chart now looking not very good

Debt issues growing

Dealing with 3rd world countries does not always result in payments being paid
especially when many such countries rely upon resource/metals/commodities to provide cash

Struth, make your mind on the divi michaelmouse, is it 17% or 22%?

michaelmouse - 03 Mar 2016 - 07:39:42 - 3675 of 3740
At last night's share price the total dividend of 6p paid out this year amounts to 22%. The beauty of profitable, debt free, cash generative companies.

Oh dear! You sort of know what's coming with results delayed nearly six months and then released on a Friday.

Revenues down 31% to £2.1m.

Losses up 51% at nearly £0.25m.

Gross margins down.

Worse still they are burning through the cash and it's looking likely a further cash raise will be needed.

What's this nonsense in the outlook statement:- "Although we continue to remain alert to how we pursue our strategy in detail". Sounds like they're clueless to me.

Needless to say they make no mention of revenues in the first six months of this year.

Good luck if you hold, but it doesn't look pretty!!!!!

clocktower - Given that you keep bleating on about how you sold your shareholding for a loss, you appear to be the most staunch defender of this company?

Have you spotted the elephant in the room with those results?

Despite the fact that the results were dire and clearly indicate a fledgling company that has lost it's way with decreasing revenues, decreasing margins, increasing losses and increasing competition, have you spotted the most worrying part?

Whilst they mention the order book is just under £1m which is not very impressive in itself. The elephant in the room is that revenues in the second half were less that £600,000 and despite the fact that they are already nearly six months into their current financial year, no mention has been made about current revenues.

Net tangible assets are just £31,600 and needless to say they don't pay dividends. I think my previous target of 10p was too generous. I fully expect the price to fall below this level.

Beaufort Sec. AVN spec. buy - from LSE forum. Avanti Communications (AVN.L, 100.75p) – Speculative Buy

On Friday, Avanti Communications informed that it has secured its first pre-launch contract for capacity on its HYLAS 4 satellite. As per the deal, the company would supply Bentley Walker, one of its key existing customers, with capacity on HYLAS 4 across sub-Saharan Africa for a consideration of more than US$1m. HYLAS 4 is on track to be launched in Q1 2017.

Our view: Avanti continues to witness strong demand for HYLAS 4 from both existing and new customers. HYLAS 4 is a planned high-throughput broadband communications satellite (28GHz) built by Orbital (OSC) for Avanti. The company expects to complete the launch in early 2017, which would complete Avanti’s coverage of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. This would materially enhance the company’s revenue-generation potential, largely within the existing fixed-cost base. Bentley has been one of Avanti’s main partners, known for delivering the best services across markets. Last month, Avanti won a contract with isNet, a subsidiary of Isbank, one of the largest banks in Turkey. As per the deal, isNet would provide Ka-band satellite connectivity to its enterprise customers in Turkey and Europe through Avanti’s HYLAS 1 and 2 satellites. Moreover, the company remains fully funded for the launch of HYLAS 3 and 4 in 2017. We are encouraged by Avanti’s progress and look forward to further developments related to HYLAS 4. Therefore, we maintain a Speculative Buy rating on the stock.

And you don't think shorters manipulate the share price.? What is that series of trades just before close with for instance 6 shares sold automatically at 1629:51 seconds ?

Nothing specific to Avanti Chris, but the forward looking statement disclaimer gives management of companies around the world scope for optimistic commentary without the risk of censure. Accounting opinion gives the CFO and management scope to present figures in a flattering light. Exec team incentives are weighted towards hiding bad news from investors and as investors trying first and foremost to protect our capital we are in the sad situation of having to keep a cynical hardhat firmly on our head.

I am getting just a bit tired of the endless uniformed comments over the last few weeks. Why do some not seem able to accept that we just don't know whether AVN will hit its targets? We don't know because the company is not releasing any news about its new(ish) incremental contracts. It's frustrating but that doesn't mean that there are no sales gains... only we don't know when and how much.

So informed investing has got a whole lot more difficult in the current year. But we do know that the BoD as a whole take responsibility for RNS Press Releases and for the Financial Statements. The one thing I know from personal experience is that the accountants and lawyers will have been over these with a fine comb so every comma and pause matters. If they say that they (all of them) expect the major contracts to grow at 50% they must have both a reason and evidence to back this up.

We are now at a critical stage in AVNs development. IMO if it isn't doing the business by the end of December 2016 the balance starts tipping in favour of the pessimists. But if it starts hitting the targets I hope they have limits in place to cover their losses as one press release can move prices by over 30% in a matter of minutes. Here's hoping.
