30/1/2013 19:32 | Sidam, maybe but I'd much rather they focus on ramping up space sales on existing orbits. I'm sure I'd have supported it if they had won, but it did have significant delivery risks in my view, which view the govt shared. Different sort of contract for Avanti than normal. | ![]() waterloo01
30/1/2013 16:18 | to Waterloo and HPCG I do not understand your posts. AVN was not going to be a TV station, but acting as a supplier. Firstly, they are already in that market as they provide capacity for outside broadcasting via satellite. Secondly, my understanding was that this was a decent size Government contract. The initial part was for infrastructure possible £20m where they would have acted as prime contractor with decent margins, but subcontract the installations. The second part was the provision of satellite capacity perhaps up to £5m annually. That is 10% of HYL 1. So I would have liked them to win it. | ![]() sidam
30/1/2013 15:19 | Yes waterloo, I was pleased to see that nonsense off the table as well. | ![]() hpcg

30/1/2013 15:10 | O that AVN don't have to waste a lot of time/effort/money on the local TV venture? | ![]() waterloo01
30/1/2013 15:09 | Yorgi Close season so no comment on current trading. But they appeared reasonably optimistic that the £11m monthly target was being met on average. Ennismore account for 50% of shorts, which is still quite a high number in my view. And if I am correct, that is a dangerous strategy. Co not yet decided on timing of move to official list. I said, if still this price I would like to see it sooner, so I can move my family holding to ISA. If they can eventually get to £10 that would save CGT of over £2 per share. | ![]() sidam
30/1/2013 15:05 | Yeah, a bit perky of late. News due? | ![]() aishah

29/1/2013 14:18 | Avanti misses out on local tv opportunity They were fairly hopeful at the AGM but the decision seems to have made to not take the 'riskier' different route for signals. | ![]() aa29

25/1/2013 18:41 | French request The Sentinel will be deployed on Friday from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire to, initially, Senegal. The RAF has a fleet of five Sentinels, but only one is being sent to west Africa. Mr Hammond said: "As the prime minister has made clear, the UK supports France's decision to provide military support to the Malian government. "He also said in the House that we would be looking at further French requests for additional logistical and surveillance support for this operation, over and above the two C-17s. | garymott

24/1/2013 11:42 | I was a subscriber to RHPS and bought AVN on that recommendation, which for some time looked very apt as I was in significant profit within months. I did not buy any other recommendations, and subsequently stopped my subscription because too many tips were changed or did not suggest that TB had any more insight than I had. This one may take some time to come into profit again, but I am not planning to sell out anytime soon. | jadeticl
