20/7/2012 13:35 | I do of course run the risk of missing an astronomical move on AVN however Monday was a clear signal to take 50% profit on my biggest holding and one as a TA trader I couldn't ignore. The longer we keep moving down the bigger the bull flag get's and when it steps out of this flag will be the time to buy again (not looking for the bottom of this move but around 360 would be grande and/or when it breaks the flag). As a TA trader I can't ignore the same signals I use to buy when I sell and of course the exit is far more important than entry as it decides on whether a profit/loss is taken. AVN I believe is a fab company however no matter what the fundies say there will always be a chance to hop on/off on what I hope will be the best performer in my folio for year's to come :) Have a fab weekend AVN investor's/trader's- | k0108356

20/7/2012 10:42 | I sold out on Monday's spike as a Hammer was posted and oversold on both Daily RSI/Stochs having had multiple purchases from 240>320, the 61.8% Fib level YTD Highs>Lows is 362, the area i'm looking to add my core holding again and add more when/if we start to move higher once more. This is a classic bowl taking formation taking place and no reason why it can't get back to the heady heights of £7+. | k0108356

19/7/2012 17:03 | yorgi, looks more like the sellers were coming back, unless you believe it's the MMs manipulating the prices again. for the conspiracy theorists here's a word to the wise: avoid grassy knolls when driving in an open-topped car. 19/7/2012 14:25 | Daniel Stewart yesterday: International bandwidth demand grew +45% in 2011 (TeleGeography) TeleGeography's Global Bandwidth Research Service reports international bandwidth demand grew 45%YoY in 2011, principally on links to less-developed regions. International bandwidth usage 2007-2011 CAGR was: Middle East 98%; Africa 85%; Latin America 71%; Asia / Europe >55% North America / Oceania 47%. International bandwidth demand growth is slower in more mature markets, but capacity requirements are far larger; e.g. North America's international bandwidth usage is almost 10x greater than that of the entire Middle East Broadband subscriber growth is the primary driver of bandwidth demand. In 2007-2011 Middle East and Africa broadband subscribers grew from 9.4m to 19.4m, whilst those in Asia doubled to 250m. We note that, in its Trading Update of July 11th, Avanti highlighted the importance of Emerging Markets, saying: "HYLAS 2 ... will provide high speed data capacity to a growing range of telecoms, enterprise and government customers in fast growing markets in Eastern and Southern Africa, the Middle East and across the Caucasus. 80% of Avanti's total fleet capacity will address emerging markets. ... Demand in the fast growing economies across Africa and the Middle East is as strong as anticipated and therefore the launch of HYLAS 2 is very timely." HYLAS 2 is scheduled for launch on August 2nd. Our rating remains "Buy", and our valuation based on a three-satellite HYLAS fleet in operation. | ![]() billytkid2
