09/10/2003 23:21 | I'll be honest I plan to be very short term here, got in a few days ago, am now sat on a small profit and will happily take 30% inside 2 weeks! Cant see how the share consolidation will impact in the short term growbag, maybe a longer term +ive, no that it should make any difference, it does seem to though. Rgds Tony | bagshaw
09/10/2003 19:36 | Growbag Good post, POA along time ago was once a cash generative business if run properly, the question is how much of the cash will reach the bottom line and the long suffering shareholders of Avanti and when? | utsushi
09/10/2003 16:53 | Mart. lol That'll be one of the long-termers then :-) Business Link - You might be right about the Po Na Na deal. If they can turn that around then there might be (a glimmer of) light at the end of the tunnel. Short term I think there is upside in this share. I'm going to wait and see what happens for a while. cheers, g. | growbag
09/10/2003 16:52 | Good post growbag, As for short termism, You are dead right, I would love to be able to sell half my holding and maintain a nice stake in AVA for free, but alas this so very infrequently happens. As you rightly say some of the current minor investments are questionable at best, but the Po Na Na deal is a different kettle of fish entirely. This investment could be the catalyst that the stock (and you and I) are looking for imho. What interests me is what the board plans to do with the remaining cash. Good luck Pat | business link
09/10/2003 16:45 | somebody getting out at break even? :-) | mart
09/10/2003 16:38 | Whats with the million T trade then? | the whirling dervish
09/10/2003 16:29 | oh er, don't forget the warrants peeps :-)) | mart
09/10/2003 16:20 | Absolutely not growbag, (well not on my part anyway!) The facts speak for themselves, at the current price the shares are heavilly discounted to NAV. I assume that you are one of the unfortunates i mentioned in the title post having bought in at much higher levels, you genuinely have my sympathy, the way some boards treat their shareholders is disgusting. Good luck Pat | business link
09/10/2003 16:06 | Excellent. An Avanti/ECI/Cambury ramping thread. Fill yer boots! Oh, and don't forget the 1 for 60 share consolidation that's coming up. | growbag
09/10/2003 15:27 | Uptred begining to take shape. Increased activity, all pointing one way. Excellent. | business link
09/10/2003 08:07 | Ive gone with my instinct and the flow, IN! | the whirling dervish
08/10/2003 14:32 | No problem at all Tony, Glad you have joined us for what I hope will be an exciting few months or so. The Whirling Dervish. You will have to decide that for yourself, but nothing can take away the heavy Discount of Market Cap to NAV and the excellent potential the current investments hold. The Po Na Na move is really exciting imho and will provide the Co with a rock solid base, what the guys do with the rest of the £££ we will have to wait and see, If the next investment is half as good as what I believe this one is the the market will HAVE TO SIT UP AND TAKE NOTICE Regards to all Pat | business link
08/10/2003 08:35 | I have looked at this one and cant make up my mind, on the face of it it looks a winner. But having read the other thread many people are on a real downer about the stock, how come? and who is right? | the whirling dervish
07/10/2003 18:01 | Thanks for your e-mail about these Pat, very informative, I dipped my little toe in yesterday and will watch with anticipation, they have gone unnoticed of late as you say, despite a concrete strong balance sheet. I dare say it will only be a matter of time before someone picks up on just how undervalued they are. Kind regards Tony | bagshaw
07/10/2003 14:41 | Good question...... The answer I guess is unknown at this time, although I would think it is safe to assume that having "Cherry Picked" these sites that AVA (and assoc' companies) will not have exposed themselves to heavy losses. | von smallhousen
07/10/2003 08:43 | Having re-read te Final results and attached report, can anyone tell me what the anticipated admin costs would be to service the following? (Looks incredibly impressive at first glance) "the 28 cherry picked bars and nightclubs had sales of #23.4m and a contribution of #4.3m (unaudited) before head office costs." Regards Abbo | abbo64120
06/10/2003 14:13 | Some very sound investments here, this appears very undervalued. I have a small holding at present and will look to accumulate if these small but steady increases inprice continue and will certainly add if the spread closes in our favour. | von smallhousen
05/10/2003 21:14 | You are right, Irresponsible, they have invested some in some of the more profitable Po Na Na outlets. That is good - I haven't invested in these to see how much interest they are going to make in the next year, because their (reduced) admin costs will still eat into that 4%! Modo - you are also right, on both counts! A reasonably good gamble at these levels, IMO, despite the spread. Good luck whatever you decide. Pat p.s. Where do you see these going, rhiannon? | business link
04/10/2003 00:33 | Look at NAV figures wdik | rhiannon
04/10/2003 00:30 | Don't forget that they no longer have £17m, having bought some casinos. | irresponsible
04/10/2003 00:27 | Got my stake, to keep.wdik | rhiannon |
