23/12/2002 14:29 | They'll have continued to get paid for doing nothing though, thereby gradually eroding the cash. | zedder
23/12/2002 14:25 | Banj - I think the market will just factor in the next dilution of cash before the next interims. My money's on the cash pile being down to £14.5m, and a (recycled) statement from Dan Taylor about how, in the current difficult market conditions, it was decided not to make any investments this past year, but that the directors believe conditions will improve towards Q4 (blah, blah). In other words, we haven't done anything - again, and we won't be doing anything next year either. | growbag

18/12/2002 14:49 | No news from the company. no further buying by jim mellon - so reverse takeover looking less likely now. while eci (or whatever they're called now) still trade at a discount to cash, this one is basically bombed out. the directors will take out their salaries for the next 10 years, then fold the business up when there's nothing left to pay their kids school fees. This 'business' should have been wound up a year ago, and the SHAREHOLDERS' money returned to them. It's a scandal, but what can you do. You'd be hard pressed to find another group of directors as talentless and incompetent as these. The destruction of shareholder value has been relentless. So, to all of the Directors of Avanti/E-Cap/Cambury | growbag

25/11/2002 10:09 | Chris, Think you have your stocks confused! Phonelink became Telme.com and are now GB Group - currently floundering at around 14p. ECap were previously Cambury Investments... Makes you wonder about companies that rename themselves though... | snuff
24/11/2002 15:21 | You think you were hard done by, I originally bought when they were phonelink @ £1.50. went for a long rest and found name changed and share price had hit the floor when I got back. Stick along for the ride you can only hope. | chris nuttall
14/11/2002 01:04 | What's going on, snapdragon, is that you've lost loads of money I'm afraid. I paid around 3.5p for mine and went to the last AGM and pointed out that if they simply gave us our cash back, they would have shown a 50% premium to the then market price and made most of their investors happy. They looked at me as if I was completely mad. The 'playboys' (Bilton/Aspinall) wittered on about 'opportunities in the market'. I think the share price has halved again since then. Dan Taylor said if I didn't like it, I could sell and, whilst I took umbrage at the time (I don't like selling £1 cash for 50p!), in the end I did just that to take the loss which I needed to offset a capital gain from some boring company that made profits. These guys are losers IMHO - move on. Regards, Ian | jeffian

09/11/2002 16:31 | Here's a question , was it a straight rename ? Do i still have the same amount of share as ECI ? minto | mintosbs
02/11/2002 00:31 | Growbag - why don't you ask them direct? Worth a try. Touch - Yes, if you think of a bankrupt exploration company, then it is not a good ticker; but what about Ava Gardener - A STAR OF THE OLD SCHOOL. Here is hoping. There were so many disasters and disappointments associated with E-cap, maybe with the new name things will be looking up. People who are untainted by bad experiences with E-cap might give Avanti a try, based on cash pile and prospects (are there any prospects?) Ad. | adelheid
01/11/2002 11:23 | I name this ship - Avanti. Let's hope this one is a better investment that E-Capital. I have a feeling that a reverse take-over may be on the cards. This could well be worth watching. Anyone go to the AGM? Can ADFVN transfer the old ECI news and announcements and refile them under the new name. | growbag
01/11/2002 08:19 | What a great ticker e-cap have got themselves. A bankrupt exploration company. good on them, touch | touch2002

13/8/2000 11:36 | Yes, while we're all enthusiastically Ashley Jamesing this magnificent stock that we hold, could someone at ADFN correct the EPIC code in the thread title to (ACA) and why not correct to caspIAn not caspAIn. Or maybe SuperInvestor can do it with his edit function as author of the thread. | the wah |
