I have looked at the trades over the last 21 days 1,6 million sells / 1 million buys all seems very quiet, mm happy just to let the sells trickle in and then you get a half decent buy to mop them up.
Not long to the results, hopefully some news then , oone way or another.
Just had a good browse on the web site, take a look at the unquoted investments , the ones with the links seem to be doing quite well, this is going off the press releases etc.If a few manage to get their act together we may see some benefit from them yet.Amino com was an interesting site with revenue starting to come in , was suprised how many their was , never bothered to take a look before.

Last years interims out on 28th March , so still a while to go, maybe a little snippet of news to keep us hanging on longer.
Come on AVA board who's directors collectively have experience in various industry sectors , to provide support with the sourcing and selection of investment oppurtunities earn your pennies.

it could be the liquidating of a dead persons portfolio, this company has had so many incarnations 210 shares may have been worth something once!!!

Accessible,
i have given up trying to understand what is going through peoples minds , the lowest i could sell these shares for is 5 quid from halifax so the seller is a few quid out of pocket.I have taken the decision to average down my small holding in the hope that the cash is worth something and any deals or announcements will send the price up.

Can anyone ecplain to me why someone would sell 210 shares, yup nearly £3 worth!
This share must have some serious people keeping th eprice low, just as cash the company is worth 3p let alone any company they have invested in or deals they might still do.

Puzzling thing eh, someone buys 1million shares, no price rise. Total volume of 61k sells today and price drops (ok, ok, whole market dropped etc). I know there are lots of other influences but the movement of this share has been quite bizarre at times. Still, it'll all be alright in the end :)

The sales that have gone through have been for very small numbers, the buys are always very big. This share should be going up! unless it is being held back.

I agree over the past few days we have had a steady stream of sellers , followed by a couple of large buys,if nothing else the number of shareholders is reducing making it a more attractive stock. Can have mine , but not till i get me money back.

Hmmm, well I certainly think somethings going on. See the late reported trade today? 1million shares at 1.70. No smoke without fire I say!!

wish i could share your enthusiasm. it is quite a common occurence for this share to rise and fall by 10%+ on no volume. just returning to where it was before last weeks 10% drop. Someone picked up a few, but there was no RNS. The share price will drop back again later.

My thoughts exactly. Very little share activity yet price rise. Looks to me like something is in the off'ing. Fingers crossed!

Very little share movement but a 10% rise, something is happening behind the scenes, can't wait until some news comes out, sitting on a loss

Or our friend Jim Mellon/Galloway. Maybe we'll get an RNS.

growbag, if it gives you any pleasure, directors have options at 2.5p, so you can bet your life on any sale the price will be above that.

Shocking stock this,

growbag, i only hold a modest amount of shares at an average of about 5p , recently i have been using my halifax sharebuilder acc to average down month on month with only very small amounts of cash .But when your av is 8-9p it doesn't take lot to bring the av price down. I think i will continue to av down to about the 3p mark and then concentrate on another duff investment.Oh the joys of the stock market.
The only thing this share has going for it is any couple of pieces of good news will cause a spike and may help some people get out on even terms.

given that ALL holders of this stock are sitting on losses - except the directors who had options to buy in cheaply - the question to ask, i suppose, as a shareholder, is whether you think there's more chance of getting your money back by continuing to hold ECI/Avanti/Cambury, versus selling out and trying to recoup the cash lost here on another stock.

My view is that the only hope we have for this share is from a reverse takeover of the kind, rumoured, to be planned by Mellon/Galloway - that is, someone looking to buy a UK listing and some cash (e.g., to establish a UK betting/gaming venture).

The risk here though is that the cash will get sold at a discount (or whatever remains of it while the directors continue to draw their salaries) - and there is nothing in the track record of any of the ECI directors to suggest that they wouldn't sell their shareholders money for less than it is worth, if they can make something for themselves.

cynical view, perhaps. And I wish I were wrong.

For my own part, I'm going to wait until the results, and then take it from there. I hold ECI at an average of 4.5p per share - a lot less than those people who've watched this come down from 30p plus since 2000. There may be some chance of the shareprice going back above 4p (slim), but certainly no higher than that IMO - even from speculation about a takeover.

One problem for the takeover story is that the shareholder base at ECI is quite dispersed - that is, distributed over a large number of small, and some large shareholders. This makes is less than ideal as takeover play.

I know this share has done nothing but loose shareholders money for over a year , but i can't believe people are still prepared to sell at such a low price. Surely for the amont of money they are getting back it would be as well to hold on. No matter what rumours go around about the company the results show that cash burn is cut to the bone and we still have our milions?
Just think many companies that were around last year would be pleased to have the same capital as last year rather than the rapid decline in their share price and the running around for extra funds.

Banj - winners few and far between this year. Feel like Ive been hit over the head with a bottle in some dingy back alley (probably by Graham Wallace, as I lost a shed load on CW). Did make some money out of ANL, PRSC and HAYS (all have subsequently dived - but no great skill on my part, just happened to sell at the right time, mostly by luck). For 2003 Im backing OYS. Cheers, g.
