Thanks for that folks. Usually I am put off by the large B/O spread on cheapies. This one is not in that category.
May be worth a punt. Risky but worth a go I would say.

Subj: This month's Share Tip
Date: 23/11/01 06:31:16 Eastern Standard Time
From: friendlytipster@hotmail.com (Joan Pascali)
To: friendlytipster@hotmail.com

Ladies And Gentlemen,

As an investor in smaller cap companies, I suspect you are guilty of buying
into companies that have not yet made a profit but are low in price, with no
more than "potential", companies such as Durlacher, Rage and QXL.

Whilst we agree they do have potential, they also carry massive risk, look
at companies such as Just, currently suspended at only 10% of last years
average price.

We are trying to find small cap companies that are making money, and large
cap companies that have sound potential for recovery.

Two months ago (our first month) we tipped Marconi at 14p they surged to 40p
within a week.
Last month we tipped PMD at 20p they surged to 29p within 10 days.

We only make one tip a month, and as we have a large mailing list we imagine
we do influence the trading volume, our tip is free, as obviously we invest
in the shares ourselves.

So our tip this month is AUK Bid is currently 5.6p spread is 0.1p

Fundamentals

P?E 2.7 Market cap 4.16M Turnover 18.4M Profit 2.05 M

30 Sep 1998 (GBP) 30 Sep 1999 (GBP) 30 Sep 2000 (GBP)
turnover (m) 9.25 13.98 18.37
pretax profit(m) 0.62 1.02 2.05
attrib.profit (m)0.52 0.64 1.51
ret'ned profit(m)0.42 0.44 1.21
eps - basic 0.79 0.97 2.13
eps - diluted 0.78 0.95 2.07
dividends p/sh 0.15 0.30 0.40

We expect 10% gain before year end, and 30% by March, although increased
trading volume could have dramatic effect on price.

If you are interested, price has as far as we can tell bottomed, and we
would suggest blocks no larger than 50000, ideally 10-20000.

If you would not like to receive next months tip please advise by return.

The clock is ticking, early bird etc.etc.

Best Of Luck

BobP ; The upbeat statements in this firm's press releases have been encouraging over the past year or so. I find it most worrying that the share price suffered well before 11th September, so something may be afoot. However, it may be wise to look elsewhere for companies doing well before that date. Buying opportunities abound of shares that were 'fine' before the US disaster.

Bought in at 5.6p today, two lots of 20000 both show as sells instead of buys, suspect all the 5.6p trades are also buys NOT sells

No trades, no news. Price keeps trickling away. Is there anything to be optimistic about with this stock?

I didn't think these were too bad, considering the veiled warning from a few weeks ok. Chairmans statement still optimistic. At the current price (9p) they look oversold to me, but have to do some calcs to make sure. Well worth topping up at these levels.

We obviously posted aqt same time. Practically all buys last week too.
Answer to your question i don't know but may be a reaction to postive US news about the IT indisutry last week - if business has bottomed then recovery will be good news for AUK
