more than doubling down on AUGM at 57.3p in March is my best (and luckiest?) trade this year, so far so good. Surely an exciting growth sector overall, but how can the businesses push through to make a big enough splash in the market. Maybe some big bold entrepreneurial strategic marketing, the occasional cost-saving M&A and, I suppose, enough patience.

and if you like this, Draper Esprit(GROW) may be worth a look too.

Yes fair enough. The main point for me was indeed keeping the lights on, these business will be loss making in general and so will require capital injections. Those will now come at lower valuations and augmentum will get diluted much more than was assumed a few weeks ago. I suspect further weakness in the share price, but that's just an opinion. Good luck with your holding.

plus my view is that the valuations of these companies need not necessarily be hammered... valuation of early stage businesses is based on far-out revenues which are unlikely to be majorly impacted by this. provided they can keep the lights on for now, revenues in early stage businesses are fairly non-existent now anyway so didnt have far to fall and valuations can remain focused on the long-term picture.

take your point.
though, my view is that there is sufficient cash relative to portfolio size to support companies. bigger pocketed shareholders involved too.
there has only been selling the past few weeks, and for the thinly traded stuff with illiquid underlying the price reaction has been more extreme than the valuation moves.
this investment should never have been made with a horizon of less than 5 years - its a VC fund.. i would recommend holders try to ignore checking the share price over the next few months.

Why do you think the nav is meaningful. Valuations will be hammered and, in addition, the portfolio companies are likely to need more cash(as they lose more money) and any fundraising's will therefore take place at even lower valuations, with augmentum having little cash available to participate in future fundraising's and therefore suffering dilution. Vicious cycle,

yep, happy with that update. £14m of cash ready to support the portfolio too.
I don't see how you can be selling with this more than 50% below the last quoted nav, try and ride it out!

Probably as reassuring a statement as one could hope for in the current circumstances, could have been a much worse report

Surely this should be much lower given the sell off.

I'm out . I'm a bit spooked by the reality check they had recently on valuation with their biggest holding.
Still inclined to think that good things can happen here but feel that the next year or so could be dull or worse.
Good luck all

Don't fully understand why it's not at a big discount to nav?

Would have thought this would be at a massive discount to nav but was surprised to see it's not.

I checked through the top holdings and they are all valued on huge multiples (eg Interactive Investor valued at around 45x earnings). Not for me I'm afraid - BPM offers exposure to financial startups but much more attractively valued.

OK so they raised the money at Zope but not at the valuation carried forward, result- money raised , project goes ahead but the valuation has been written down. Much as I expected .
Some companies doing well, others in their infancy , many trading but losing astonishingly large amounts of money.
It's all a bit of a moonshot punt for me , so I'll be staying put.

Bought a few 2 days ago, being 'zopeful' of some positive outcomes.

It seems like the valuation in part is based on the capital being raised. So if they make it we are ok, if not then I would expect a write down. Either way i’m staying put. I’m in for the long haul.

According to a Sky News report yesterday, Zopa is now close to getting its money:

hxxps://www.msn.com/en-gb/money/business/zopa-close-to-securing-banking-licence-lifeline/ar-BBXz3Vi?li=AA54rU

If, and it is still an 'if', that goes through, then AUGM will presumably be able to publish its interim figures. Must say, though, that I would feel a little easier if it hadn't got quite such a big percentage of its total investment in one company, whatever it's potential.

Must say with bullish level of the market, there should be decent appetite to get zopa their money, so expect it to get done, if it flops it suggest zopas growth is not going as planned.
