In the simplest terms, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a retirement plan where the ownership of the company is held in trust for the benefit of the employees of the company. The Trust buys the company on behalf of the employees and uses the profits of the company to pay off the loan used in the purchase. This means the employees don’t pay out of their wages or income, but gain ownership as a result of their work. Because of this, an ESOP is much more than a retirement plan.

The shares will be created on 30th August. Perhaps you are indeed right and no money will buy the shares. They will be created for the retirement trust. poorly worded RNS then....on the £900k consideration?

Perhaps it is because a paper exercise will show a transaction of £900k between the company and the trust?

"A PCA of Len Kolff, Head of Business Development & Chief Geologist, has acquired 3,000,000 new Ordinary Shares at a price of 30p each as a result of the exercise of ESOP options, for a total consideration of £900,000.

Application will be made for the total 3,000,000 Ordinary Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM ("Admission"). Admission is expected to take place on or around 30 August 2023."

Yes - Koff's share options seemed about to expire, and (for some reason) he took them up at 30p! What will the market think?

it potentially looks like those options were expiring on 18/8, but I would have thought there is reasonable supply in the market at present, not sure about 3m but certainly looks like a vote of confidence to me

I share your confusion, which is also shared in other forums.

Although directors have been very keen to buy these shares.

But - why at such a high premium? On the face of it - good news.....

3m shares at 30p a little confusing but probably didn't want to buy on open market albeit a third cheaper. Strange one can anyone enlighten me?

Got my holding back to 100%....now that PLL have communicated.......average 21.2p per share so roughly 2p per share cost for taking a bit off the table recently.........onwards and upwards...all dependent on Mining Lease approval to get PLL money in now! GLA!
