You must be joking!

Like Acamas, I'm stock seeking opportunities for out of the ordinary gains...

The total focus of my Spec portfolio is metals, minerals and oils, as I've made clear before...

Copper, gold and silver predominate and I have no oilers at present because of the global oversupply, but other than that I am in those 'metals' with the greatest long term potential, i.e. lithium, ilmenite (titanium), uranium and platinum...unfortunately i haven't found a suitable UK quoted palladium miner as yet...suggestions welcome...

I dabbled in REMs in the past and made and lost money (did both in FTE...).

As you know, by far my biggest holding is ATYM and my second largest is GPM. I made a bomb on FRES and especially HOC and MARL but I'm out of all of those now...

Also, I have a 'stop loss' policy which means I sell shares as well, sometimes out of sheer boredom because they are going nowhere...sometimes I double up if the price falls and then sell half when the holding returns to breakeven.

As you know I also always sell half when the share price doubles and indeed sold 25,000 ATYM earlier this year, but I have bought back several times the amount since and have traded some in and out, either to take a profit or because I see the share price falling back...

Hopefully as others have said this one has turned the corner now...I had that feeling the other day when I wanted to get in under 116 but couldn't get a price below 117...

As an example I hold two of today's biggest gainers GEO (for some time) and AAZ (bought last week)...

AIMHO as usual, DYOR and GLA!!

That's a hell of a lot of stocks you seem to own RP. Maybe best investing in an Aim tracker. :-)

Hi waterloo

As you know, I always do extensive research before buying any share...

I too am captivated by the vast potential of lithium...

The two I bought are KOD at .255 (which has been rising since, mainly because f the commitment of others, including the Chnese) to buy at .38, but the shares are massively undervalued IMHO anyhow...

Scares kindly drew my attention and I was lucky to get it after the fallback...

The other is SAV, which I bought at a smudge under 5.5 and which has recently acquired a lithium resource in Portugal...

I did hold MNOD, which has vast lithium resources in Mongolia but decided to sell because of the forex aspects and the many unknowns...

Hope this helps and DYOR

Cheers

Hi Husbod

The two I hold are GCL and BKY

Berkeley are mining in Spain and potentially one of the biggest and easiest to mine resources in the world. I know others have a different view, but I believe BKY are very undervalued going up to production...

Meanwhile GCL have perked up in the last few days (its a fund of URA mining companies run by the same stable as GPM (Gold and precious metals) in which I have a massive holding...

It also holds Cameco which is arguably the best URA company but is US listed

DYOR and good luck

While your at it, any thoughts on best Lithium plays. Want to dip my toe in that water. (HG, so do I, or used to as somewhat ambivalent. Moniker more to do with Station!)

Evening rouge.Interesting article on uranium in the Telegraph business section today. I know you have mentioned this as one of your favoured sectors in the past. Could you remind me of the companies you like so I can take a look. Looks like a real squeeze on supply coming up. Thanks in advance. Pity about Wall Street. Hope it doesn't kill off our recovery.

Damn I'm going to have to sell up. I thought I was investing in a crack American hedge fund not some crummy Spanish copper mone.

I sense we might have seen a reversal in the SP, helped by copper rising. Will any momentum as we build to 1st H numbers but enough to escape the gravity of Mr 5k?

Acamas - being of a certain vintage gives you a certain degree of experience which is not necessarily synonymous with wisdom but it is a very good reason why the voting age should be increased to 55 ........ sorry meant 25.

Anyway the volume today was a bit better - if we could regularly do 100k plus per day, and much much more in due course, we should be on our way.

Husbord,

I agree with your political comments. Looking back over my lifetime to when the first newspaper I read was The Daily Herald I feel that the current bunch are the most inept I can recall. They should be paid on what they get right and penalised financially on what they get wrong. With regards to Laura she does seem to be able to cut to the wick of a problem very quickly, which can be awkward for the person being interviewed

I've been around since 2000 with the same name Shortarm . . . I used to get tempoary bans all the time for outing the rampers on the Topinfo thread . . . If you're referring to the number 2 then it's part of a chemical compound . . .

EMED is still in a downtrend from 160p . . . I wonder why given the move in the copper price . . .

Husbord,

I believe there are a number of reasons why the Stock Market is behaving in such a way

1) Sell in May

2) Bank of England credit worries

3) Dealers/Traders starting to think about School Summer holidays

4) Market has had a good run from last September

5) Lets hope it is pausing for breath before another assault on new highs

6) Brexit

7) Confidence or lack of it in our current batch of Politicians

I guess there are more to be added to that list which are making the Market sluggish right now
