07/12/2018 14:59 | Afternoon EI, quite surprised by the market reaction . Plenty of retail surveys have been pointing at the tough trading on the uk high street. I think many are missing the stronger european trading. Happy to hold :-) Some broker comment here: | philanderer

07/12/2018 12:56 | On PE terms the multiple is lower than it's been in many a moon. Much of ABF's past multiple expansion has been driven by Primark growth, and Primark future growth prospects. Slower future growth on their UK stores may be in the price. What is not in the price is if L4L start to turn negative. | essentialinvestor

07/12/2018 09:15 | Ah, got it :-) "At the other end of the large cap index, Associated British Foods was the worst performer, down 2.6% after the company said trading at its Primark clothing chain was challenging during November in a tough retail market. However, with "careful inventory management and improved margins" the company's expectation for an increase in Primark's profit remains unchanged. The company, which is holding its annual general meeting on Friday, said profit at its sugar unit AB Sugar will be significantly lower "reflecting the full-year effect of EU sugar prices". In addition, AB Foods said sales and profit for the first eight weeks of trading in its current financial year were in line with expectations." | philanderer
