At last!!Open offer and payment of dividends on the preference shares. I had given up hope. With (i assume ) a site used by the only remaining subsidiary in the books at a very low valuation . I hope we might see some action soon

The company has been saying for a long timethat they want to move forward, but to do so a deal would need to be done with the owners of the two classes of preference shares, where the dividends have not been paid for years. Until this happens is seems not a lot can happen .

thank you pregonda i have often looked at this company but not invested yet it may just be worth a punt. the pension deficit though is likely to get worse and if they bought out the liability would be considerably more.

The accounts state that freehold land and buildings are depreciated to a value of £74k. This stated at COST of £689k less accumulated depreciation of £615k. The £689k is a mixture of freehold land (not depreciated) and freehold buildings depreciated at 5% p.a. The accumulated depreciation therefore implies that the COST number is many years old. It is impossible to guess a current value but it could be well over £1m+. I do not know where the property is, but its logical to assume its BPC's premises

Pension fund deficit now £1.4m, and £1.2m further liability on Preference shares & accrued dividiends - the latter shown in the B/S at zero because the company takes the view that it has no prospect of ever paying them off. But they remain a liability. So the cash position - which I see has been quoted before also deducting £651,000 of other (cash) liabilities isn't actually as favourable as it might be represnted. Unless the company can sort out botht e Pref shares and the Pension Fund, there's nothing there.
