Brain Duffy : Taken from RNS news mid 2002 (when the company had been led into trouble):
"Richard Hicks, the founder of AIT became executive chairman on July 16 2002, and a new management team with experience in the technology industry and with turnaround expertise will join the company. Headed by Nicholas Randal as chief executive and Richard Hicks as chairman, AIT proposes the appointment of Geoffrey Probert as software development director, and G Felda Hardymon and Robert Stavis as non-executive directors. Matthew White will be appointed as chief financial officer, but will not be a member of the board.
All the current Directors, except Richard Hicks, will resign from the board if
the resolutions are passed at the EGM."

So the same team (that new about software but not about running a company) isn't running AIT now.

hate to mention it, but everyone seems to have forgotten that the same management team that ruined the company are still running it and there has been a huge share dilution (let alone FTSE delisting) since the good ol' days and to be honest there is no reason for the rise in proce so rapidly as there has been no news to back up the ramp...expect this to go back to 30-40p sonn...

Don't forget trades are reported late. May be a good opportunity to buy some short term, am keeping an eye on L2 for any turn around.

Arbuthnot has just lifted its embargo on its 12th Aug update. Not much change that I can see I'm afraid. Increased its 2004 estimates but decreased the 2005 ones.

12-Aug-03 BUY
2004 Pre-tax 1.10m + eps 3.20p +
2005 Pre-tax 3.00m - eps 6.10p -

this company has a 3 stage program to recovery - stage 1 (rationalisation) has been completed - stage 2 (stabilisation) is ongoing particularily in the current financial year - stage 3 (realisation of growth at rates achieved in the past) will presumably start in earnest in 2004.

the real driver behind recent share performance is anticipation of the impact of stage 3 when it begins to bear fruit - looking at eps in the current year and next year only begin to show the potential growth (revenue and profits) promise which appears to be only 2 - 3 years away - IMHO this is the real driver behind the recent share price rise complimented of course by the increasing institutional interest generated by the company's real prospects based on its man product currently in use and its existing geographical reach and the company's existing and growing list of partners.

i intend sticking with this company for quite a while to come.

With better figures the stock will look even more cheaper. The share price of 11p was assuming that the company was going bust and clearly they are not doing that. We do need some contract news to move them substantially higher.

mbradley -- thanks , i get the feeling they must be on the upside of orignal estimates to give a fair reason why the share price is already at the levels it is.
i.e. at this level , we are expecting absolutely no bad news in the next 2 years , OR the estimates are too conservative at the moment. It will be interresting to see ,if , with better figures , this moves further or its already in the price.

I e mailed them a couple of times lately - firstly on the timing of the last set of results and ,more recently , on the timing of the AGM.
Zilch both times
scotty - spot on ...I dithered on the last low of 77p a couple of days back , now it is I who has to wait again

i also e mailed the company on wednesday to ask what the exact date of the agm is - no reply to date - whilst i cannot complain about the share itself and its performance i think the company's own CIM could do with sharpening up - wonder if they use their own product??

Have decided to start trading these at these levels, whilst keeping my main holding long term. The movements + narrow spread online seem to give some opportunity.

i would also remind people to read and reread the reports issued with the March 2003 results which contain a lot of detailed information which will not be taken in on a first reading or a quick glance through the document.

i would go so far as to say that one should read those reports before one makes a decision to either purchase more shares or sell some already held - to ensure that your decision takes into accounts those factors mentioned in those reports being the last available information. i myself think that the price increase meant that i appreciated less exactly what the reports were actually saying.

i have reread same and was surprised at what i had glossed over or had forgotten - i know i am stating the obvious but have a reread and see what you think!

scotty - thnx
the e.p.s. dilution is something to ponder
stop losses - very rarely use them , only on the occasions of following a share up , to protect profits..... and did this with AGP
Locked in gains , but obviously, could have had more.( I have been away from any monitors for the last week and this is another reason for mine being set - and triggered.
Have a target price for starting buying again , and its not yet.... however , this share has been out performing my expectations ...in so far as too big a rise too soon

regards
oz

I don't have a penny in spare cash. The last of my ill-gotten readies went into AIT. I reckon I made the right choice. It makes up about 10% of my portfolio.

The one thing it shows is that you can't easily get out of a illiquid (is there such a word?) share like this as easily as you'd necessarily like to.

Future lesson to store in my brain (if I could only remember where I'd left it).

A wise man (well he told me he was!) once told me that you should leave about 25% of your portfolio in cash for such occasions as this. But if you then spend it buying more stock how do you retain the 25% cash????

Yes, the RSI is now down to 50% which (I'm told!) is a good thing. So, you can all start taking this buying oportunity now (I don't have any spare cash either!).

The darn price has gone straight through my stop loss! Sugar - too late again!

I'll be damned if I'll be panicked into selling at 80p!

Don't panic Mr Mannering! Don't panic!

(Thinks to himself "Where can I raise some cash to start buying?")

RSI was at 100% first thing today. It's now down to about 75%, which is still high, but basically we needed this drop with the selling it has caused before it could continue up.

I know about these things - someone told me :-)
