whole software sector moved up big today, perhaps kicked off by the approach to raft. most funds not holding any software type stocks as mkt caps got so small over last year. if they want some exposure then demand swamps supply. ait mkt cap still only in the mid £30ms and few loose shares. imho will continue to climb in leaps now folks have latched on to the fact that it isnt going bust.

The rights issue was at 87.5p but even this was a bombed out price. Look back at what these were trading at before they nearly went bust. If they turn things around as they have stated recently this could really start to shift soon (not that it hasn't already).

AIT group mentioned here - as part of Finsburys success -
Bourne seems to be a decent picker!

Gresham Computing could grow 10-fold, says Bourne
Published: 08:33 Tue 29 July 2003
By Laurence Fletcher, Funds Correspondent

Citywire tip Gresham Computing could well become a FTSE 100 company worth 10 times its current value, argues shrewd fund manager Michael Bourne.

Bourne, who runs the £60 million Finsbury Technology (FTT) trust, has bought into Gresham well below the 100p level, but also more recently, at around 270p.

Citywire tipped the shares (GHT) at 61.5p in June last year. On 15 May this year, Gresham announced ANZ Bank, Barclays, JP Morgan Chase and Mizuho Corporation were to adopt Cable & Wireless Real Time Nostro.

The shares have since rocketed from around 100p to more than 400p in the space of two months, although profit taking has recently eroded some of the gains and they closed down 11p at 357p yesterday.

Bourne is also keen on Citywire tip Superscape (SPS), a developer of interactive 3D software. 'It could go bust, or it could be worth £1 billion,' he said.

Earlier this month the group announced Siemens Mobile was to licence Swerve i3D Graphics Client, jointly developed by ARM and Superscape, for its mobile phones.

Elsewhere, Bourne has picked up more shares in Psion (PON), and has also bought into AIT (AGP), the IT solutions group that nearly went bust last year after an accounting review revealed a revenue shortfall. 'It's got one of the best management teams I've seen,' he said.

The Finsbury Technology trust stands on a 14% discount to net asset value, compared with its average 15% discount over the past 12 months and an average 20% discount among trusts in the Specialist Technology/Media/Telecom sector.

Shares in the trust closed up a penny at 186.5p last night.

You are precisely correct with your numbers.

Numbers could be revised higher if their Portrait product is as good as many believe it to be.

My personal opinion is that their is a lot more to come, todays rise has bought out some sellers but their is still someone accumulating (Maybe Close asset mgmnt again). The expectation is that they will move back into profit this year with an EPS estimate of approx 2.9p and then between 9-10p the following year. Also remember that the company was saved from extinction at a price of 80 odd pence a share (if memory serves me correctly) - i assume the people that backed the Co. at 80p are after some sort of return.

Also I believe that the 9 - 10p EPS estimate for 2005 gives a PE of about 5 !
