piglet "It's the human need that needs instant gratification we must overcome."

This reminds me very much of Warren Buffett's comment that investing requires emotional discipline - one must not allow oneself to be ruled by one's emotions.

This, and much more good advice besides, I found in The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham - I have a more recent book which essentially adds commentary by Jason Zweig to each of Ben Graham's original chapters.

You might think, I'll sell a bit at the end of the day. ARS are very apt st producing an RNS on a Monday morning and wham you've timed it badly. The only safe thing to do is buy and hold with this stock. You would have gone up 13 fold in 3 years by now. Phenomenal really. How many of us here in hindsight would have done that???? Instead of 5% here and 3% there. It's the human need that needs instant gratification we must over come.

Today's IC headlines on miners and future commodity needs.
It refers to the copper deficit.

I won't copy and paste here for copyright reasons, though I added the following comment beneath the article online:

"I have been increasingly interested in the commodities theme for the past year - particularly with respect to copper.

I'm surprised that CAML has not been mentioned in the article. Copper and Zinc miner which should re-rate significantly north of here in the next 12-18 months. Or be taken over.

Then there is "the best kept secret in copper" according to broker Liberum - Asiamet Resources (ARS) - which has huge upside potential driven by frequent newsflow of its drilling activities."

Pyglet. Quite corresct. I think TM said in an interview last year that those trying to day trade or short term trade will have difficulty because of the likely (very) regular news flow.
A big thank you to all knowledgeable contributors here. I know very little about the mining business. I invest here because of the management. As Peter Bird said "these guys have been to the rodeo before".

HB, is there any way you can put something in the header above that shows the full valuation of ARS on a daily basis according to its moving share price. I think I've seen other BB's with similar but could be mistaken.

The BKM BFS and financing will be the trigger for wider institutional investors at which point they’ll be happy paying 25p/share.

Anybody trading this must be crazy . With the market cap going over a 100 million many institutions/fund managers will only now be able to buy so it could move very quickly and leave people behind.

I would echo your post as have myself been accumulating UOG for some 3 months now but very early days right now.

Great to see the latest broker note out confirming to everyone that doesn't know ARS what an absolute steal and quality share it is now, next month and the years to come.

Not as big a holding as some on here, but with the increasing share price my batch of under a million shares gives me a new 'best day' in share dealing with every increase we get although, and as nothing goes up in a straight line, I will have to look away from the screen on the down days lol

Good luck all.

That’s why ASIAMET is such an extraordinary company and such a wonderful investment There are so many projects within the company . For the novice investor, listen carefully to the Bird podcast describing the suite of projects Adiamet has. Probably five or six company makers in themselves, then the giant, Beutong, a monster.

Chrysalis. You have to realise that miners - and small ones in particular with only one project - are essentially short lived investments. Applying 'multiples' to them is not appropriate as a valuation measure. NPV's are, but even they can exaggerate because 1) broker analysts often don't allow for the dilution to come from raising the capex (or underestimate it) and 2) NPV 'targets' are never achieved in practice for all sorts of reasons - too complex to explain here.

Thanks for that. 20p is a conservative target at this stage. The note flags alot of the optionality on that to the upside. As many have reiterated 2018 a monumental year and love PB comment on podcast this week "we are just getting started". If mgt keep delivering as they have last 3 years and copper price moves toward $4 in next 18 months as we go into production this will be a fantastic investment. Forget what the shares have done already "you aint seen nothing yet"

The podcast with Peter Bird is on Twitter now and I found it easy to access. Why would you consider selling it if you heard it and the other hot news they have come out with recently?

Thanks for the Liberum link. I have added it to the header in "Useful Links".

Talking of trusting small cap management always look for a track record as well as trying to meet in person.

ARS obviously fit the bill as do AIMHO fully listed UOG who are headed up by ex Tullow Oil guys.

Both ARS & UOG share the same broker by the by.
